What are the best aspects of this product?

It has come to change how we do thing when it comes to communicating. Instead of using emails to communicate, our team can track tickets using this tool. Jira has come of age when it comes to effective communication and making us more organized in terms of the things we are supposed to do. It has brought all the tasks, assignments and issues into one platform where management of the same is simple. This means that we are able to manage projects with ease since communications have transferred from using the email inbox to a different platform. As a result, you will be able to find a particular file or ticket with ease when using Jira as compared to when you are searching it in your email inbox.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

It can be a handful to get used to. When it comes to the learning curve, it is real with this tool. It is highly configurable but your team has to figure out the workflow before they can find their way around on this. It requires you to be patient with your team and learn what the tool has to offer. When it comes to knowing your way around the tool and exploring the functionalities it has to offer, it will take time. Luckily, once you hack everything about this tool, you are home and dry. The difficult part comes when you have to know your workflow. From there, you are good to go with the configurations.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

It has helped us from the planning stages of projects to the completion stage. When undertaking a project, you have to track tasks, bugs and issues and using an email was difficult enough especially when it came to searching for previous issues or tasks in the pile. Luckily, with Jira, it has been a smooth process as I can organize those tasks and issues or previous projects and retrieve them, if need be, for current projects. Before we can undertake a project, we use Jira project to manage all the tasks, issues during the project stages like the testing stage and acceptance by the client. This helps us to be more organized and boost the project success.
