PROS & CONS

What are the best aspects of this product?

Being in the business for around 12 years, we weren't really planning to change our standard ecommerce platform and to go out of our comfort zone, to say so. There were ups and downs, as usual, but the fact that the platform couldn’t respond to the mobile avalanche was the drop that spilled the glass. We reviewed three separate platforms, and our final choice was Lemon Stand. They have a new, cloud-based version, which looks like an attractive option for customers to come on. We chose it because it had a positive impact on our expenses-we're not paying transaction fees anymore, and we still get incredible flexibility. There are other pros too, powerful integration, for instance, and mobile-friendly themes that one could use but also modify. I'd highlight design support too, as they take feedback really personally, and they stand out with an amazing startup culture other platforms cannot hold a candle to. Just to mention a case, we needed to import 1000 tax rates and zip codes manually, but a single call to their agents made integration with our homegrown system possible in 15 minutes. That's when we fell for them, and we're loving them ever since!

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

It's not such a problem, but remember that they only give you the tool, not the skills to work with it. If you want to design an amazing store, you will need an amazing developer and a designer to assist you. Look for somebody that knows CSS and twigs, especially if you assign the task to a single person instead of a team.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

We built a responsive store that looks absolutely modern and cute. Mobile customers are still on our side, that's pretty much what we expected.
