PROS & CONS

What are the best aspects of this product?

We have been using Lightspeed POS systems since 2008. As we made our transition from Onsite to the Cloud based server in the Summer of 2018, Lightspeed has gone the extra mile to make sure that their product worked with our relatively unique business. Although not without its stumbles along the way, Janina Hojczyk and Nathan Chin have gone out of their way to make sure that we are well prepared for whatever may come our way. Both Janina and Nathan's follow-through, attention to detail, and never ending patience has been exemplary.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

Initially, we were told of many aspects of the Retail system that would help make small things that don't really work for our business work for us. However, many of those things ended up being extra add-ons (read: extra money!) that made the process quite tedious. It seemed, in the beginning, that the people who were selling the product and the people who were in charge of customer solutions were not necessarily on the same page.

What features/services would you like to see in future versions of this product?

Some small but imporant things.. That transactions are not changeable (even by manager, admin or owner!) after the sale has "completed" is crazy to me. Sometimes people complete an entire transaction and then change their minds on color, quantity, or they decide to ship and there is no way to make those changes (ESPECIALLY important on shipping) after the fact. Furthermore, we would like there to be a way to see photos of each product (like how it was on Onsite) without buying an ipad. There is no record of emailing a receipt to a customer, so we are stuck taking each receipt and manually dragging it to an email, copying and pasting their address, so that we have some sort of record.

The ability to have our entire system on the Cloud, and thus accessible anywhere, is very useful for us.
