Very robust coding function

What are the best aspects of this product?

LogicMonitor lets me pull up pretty much any metric I need when and where I need it; after which, I can securely transfer across the internet into a well-guarded cloud facility. After that, I can then put the metric on any connected device wherever it may be. However, the most alluring feature of LogicMonitor for me is the Collector where I can code to define the sources from which I can pull data (WMI, API, etc.) The process also does not require any installation of an agent on the target device and the overhead performance impact is pretty minor because the code efficiently reuses already loaded capabilities. I also don’t have to start reconfiguring the Collector from the scratch in case I change the device from which I code because the settings are installed in the cloud so all I have to do is reinstall the Collector.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

My one dislike for this software isn’t something prominent on my work which is why I have to search for it first. It’s the dashboard facility that does not maximize the use of space for devices with a large display screen. I have some experience with quite a few similar software and I dare say I can fit more features on a large screen to make my workflow more effective. However, there’s also a workaround this which is to create a custom skin and place the widgets I use the most and lay them out the way I want them. As I’ve said, it’s not a big problem for me or my customers who only want a few metrics and data.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

I’m finding the tool very useful for many things like securely retaining and extracting data, conversion of data, and proactively predicting future failures. I use it for trends analysis as well, particularly for workload and capacity management aspects. Also, to further improve my service, I compare the data streams of all my clients by generating statistical, comparative, and heuristics reports.
