Logz.i Review

PROS: I am using the platform daily and it never falls short of the expectation. It has helped our support team as well as developers determine crucial issues before they happen and cause serious troubles, monitor applications, and do necessary troubleshooting steps. We are also able to shorten root cause analysis of our issues to a minimum. So far, this ELK platform is one of the logging as well as product monitoring product I had ever use.

CONS: I don’t find any negative thing about the software.

PROS: I’ve been using this solution for a while now and I think it’s a must for businesses in this niche. It offers a lot of perks for businesses such as the ability to carry out an unlimited number of records and back them up by backups made in AWS S3. Errors in the interface can also be avoided by analyzing records.

CONS: The pricing plans of the software are quite expensive but I think with its powerful functionalities, it is worth every penny spent.

PROS: This platform has made production monitoring way easier than before. With the combination of Kibana, Alerts, and ElastichSearch, we can send logs in a breeze and effortlessly visualize and create alerts in case a problem arises. Since we always get notifications whenever glitches occur, we can take appropriate actions immediately. Apart from that, setting up the system is easy and their support team is very responsive.

CONS: The exception message is big and may take up much space in the daily storage. So whenever this type of message has been raised (happens when the information being sent are not being properly stored or passed in the elastic search), I think it would be better to not store them as normal messages.

PROS: Logz.io is a software of great help. We use it to monitor our applications and analyze our records. With this software, we can see how each application operates, get immediate notification or alert whenever a problem or failure has been detected, and access tools that can help reduce the amount of money we spend on monitoring.

CONS: When there are many alerts, the interface tends to slow down. It is an issue whenever it happens while we are working on something urgent.

PROS: Logz.io has helped us keep our servers, which are mostly on Amazon AWS, in good condition and allow us to maximize its use. Its incredible features and tools such as the log analysis have helped lessen the burden of our DevOps and developers. Generally, it is one of the best tools for monitoring logs and building a sustainable infrastructure on the cloud.

CONS: The platform’s log analysis takes too much memory space. It even hangs sometimes. Aside from that, the pricing plan can also be an issue. The cost of all the tools is quite high. Their price starts at around $300 a month with limited features. If you want to access more tools, you have to pay more. It would be nice if the price will be lower so everyone will be able to experience and benefit from the software.

PROS: This platform has helped my team and I prevent any occurring problems from wreaking havoc to the production environment. The real-time alert functionality has kept the team updated on any issues. We receive notifications about errors in real-time. On top of that, the platform lets us customize the real-time alert functionality and configure trigger conditions. So the system only notifies us when it detects certain anomalies that meet the condition we set. Overall, the system is effective in detecting issues in the pre-production and production environment and we can solve raised issues immediately and easily.

CONS: We don’t get alerts or anything that will let us know when the quote for logz is already filled. You will only know that it’s filled up when there’s a lack of logz. It would be nice if they will offer an option to switch over when the quote fills. Aside from that, I wish they provide a way to easily locate a specific project code.

PROS: Logz.io is one of the best software logging solutions that our small software team has ever used. Setting up the software was a breeze. It offers powerful yet user-friendly functionalities and tools which we use to work on logs from the front end, back end, and other development areas. It has helped us resolve issues quickly and efficiently, visualize the platform operations, and remain updated of the issues through the aid of its alert feature. We can figure out how to complete more advanced tasks because the platform is built on a standard stack. We can view logs in real-time. And whenever we encounter issues with the software, Logz.io support is always responsive. They have been very helpful in solving rare issues with the platform and willingly answer our queries.

CONS: If there is something that could be considered negative, I think it would be the limited number of records that can be viewed from given queries. But it’s not that of a big issue for it can easily be solved by making the query more specific or focused. Aside from that, some of the syntaxes can be complicated and has a steep learning curve. But spending time and effort learning it is worth it.
