What Problems Will MLens Solve?
Use Case 1: A global biopharmaceutical company wanted to achieve secure cluster backup and recovery. Their requirement was for backup of not just the data, but the respective cluster information as well including the distribution information of each Hadoop cluster.
The MLens solution provided full and incremental backup that was an exact replica of the source cluster, along with crucial data configuration details. Its inbuilt reports feature allows for quick assessment of failed loading, which saves time and effort.
Use Case 2: A global payments company wanted to achieve secure, scalable data masking and data transfer. They wanted to avoid the bottleneck of intermediate landing and was looking for a secure and speedy data transfer option.
Knowledge Lens deployed a solution wherein the data transfer worked through a Relay Server, without the need for any intermediary storage. It also allowed for the compression of files, following which file format remains unchanged. The client could choose to skip columns of data that didn’t require masking, with the custom data parallelism option.
Knowledge Lens makes use of intermediary nodes during data masking and transfer. The solution also has the unique ability to perform simultaneous Data Masking and Transfer, hence completing the job faster. The transfer process supports custom masking to hand over the controls to the client themselves.
Use Case 3: A global payments company wants to deploy a secure data migration solution from a live cluster. Their source cluster was live with continuous changes being made to it. They wished to make multiple file additions, deletions, and modifications, while the migration was in process.
With MLens, millions of Hadoop operations within a specific time interval were detected within a few minutes. The edit log parser was then integrated with MLens’ Data Migrator tool to perform incremental migration.
With the unique combination of the edit log parser and the Data Migrator tool, MLens successfully implemented full and incremental data migration of the client’s live Hadoop cluster.
