PROS: Ease of Use – Very intuitive and web-based interface, quick to deploy and manage. Performance & Efficiency – Fast backup and replication with features like network acceleration, global deduplication, and compression.

CONS: Implementation with open source tools such as Proxmox version 7.3 and cloud disaster recovery should be implemented.

PROS: Intuitive UI, easy to deploy and manage. Very competitive Pricing compared to equivalent solutions from VEEAM and Druva. Reliable Backups across platforms. Robust security (immutability enabled/installed within onboard repository but can also be deployed to other repositories. Very easy integration with Hardware Deduplication platforms (Dell PowerProtect DD & HPE StoreOnce). Can be deployed to NAS system , VMware Virtual Appliance, Windows and Linux. It has a broad interoperability support on Windows and linux distributions. I also love that same console can be used for Infrastructure Backup and Microsoft 365 Backup.

CONS: I can't find something to state here because everything run smoothly and without errors or misconfigurations. Of course new features are needed to be fully comparable to other equivalent solutions.

PROS: Easy to deploy and use: The intuitive user interface and simple configuration process make NAKIVO accessible even to people without advanced technical knowledge. High performance and deduplication: The solution offers fast backup and recovery, and the built-in data deduplication significantly reduces the disk space required. Versatility: It supports a wide range of platforms, including VMware, Hyper-V, AWS EC2, Microsoft 365, and various operating systems, making it a flexible tool for many IT environments.

CONS: Functionality in some areas: While it is a very versatile tool, in some more niche cases, the functionality may be less extensive than in the case of highly specialized, more expensive solutions. Price: For smaller companies, especially those with a limited budget, the cost of the license can be a significant factor.

PROS: Very successful in backup and replication, the support side is very good, the DDBoost side is very successful

PROS: For my business, Nakivo Backup has been a game-changer. The backup speed is excellent, and features like instant VM recovery and deduplication have saved us both time and storage costs. It integrates well with VMware and Hyper-V, which fits perfectly with our infrastructure. The ransomware protection and backup immutability features provide an added layer of security, giving us peace of mind when managing critical data.

CONS: While Nakivo is highly efficient, the reporting and alerting could be a bit more detailed, especially for clients who need in-depth compliance tracking. I’d also love to see better support for more third-party cloud storage providers to give us even more flexibility. The web interface is solid, but adding more customization options for dashboards would make it even better.

PROS: The best aspects of NAKIVO Backup & Replication are its ease of use, efficiency, and security. The Flash VM Boot feature allows for instant recovery, minimizing downtime in case of failures. The immutable backups provide strong ransomware protection, ensuring data integrity. Additionally, deduplication and compression help reduce storage costs, making backups more efficient. Its web-based interface is intuitive, and the support for VMware, Hyper-V, physical servers, cloud environments, and Microsoft 365 makes it a highly versatile solution.

CONS: While NAKIVO Backup & Replication is a great solution, there are a few areas for improvement. The Role-Based Access Control (RBAC) could be more granular, especially for enterprises with multiple administrators. Advanced reporting and analytics could offer more customization options to improve visibility and compliance tracking. Additionally, native integrations with Google Cloud Storage and Backblaze B2 would provide more flexibility for businesses that rely on multiple cloud providers.

I've been using it for two years across four different locations, and the few issues I've encountered were promptly resolved by the highly responsive technical support team. Performance is good, and the features are comprehensive for my needs. While it may be considered somewhat basic compared to some competitors, I have no complaints about its functionality.

CONS: There are features that seems to be mandatory is this king of products, like the ability to exclude directories from a backup job and it would be nice to be implemented.

PROS: The immutabile backup on AWS, the Pricing of the licensing, the customer services Nakivo, unlike other competitors (Veeam) is much cheaper, easier to configure and monitor. My user experience is extremely positive. The support has always been impeccable too.

PROS: The things i really like about nakivo is the ease of deployment, literally in Minutes and the reliability of VM backups. Also the ability to recover even files from backups give us the granularity we need. In addition in the latest version nakivo introduced indexing in recovery which makes it even easier to browse all files in your backup. Moreover, nakivo has a lot of deployment option and you can deploy it as a NAS appliance, VM, physical machine. Also in a single pane of glass you have all the information you need which is very good for users that are not administrators. Finally the support guys are always fast to reply to every question i have

CONS: Microsoft365 backup could be cloud only instead of having to save the backup only on premises. That creates a huge traffic on our internet line. Also monitoring doesnt seem to make the cut as it is lackluster. Finally backup verification could be much fast and the same goes for the recovery process.

Invest in Training and Education: Ensure that IT staff receive adequate training and education on the chosen backup solution to maximize its effectiveness and efficiency. Investing in training programs or certifications can help staff members become proficient in using the solution and troubleshooting any issues that may arise. Implement Robust Testing Procedures: Before fully deploying the backup solution in production environments, conduct thorough testing to validate its performance, reliability, and compatibility with existing systems. This includes testing backup and recovery processes, as well as failover scenarios, to identify any potential weaknesses or areas for improvement.

PROS: Ease of use and configuration. And the fact that is available on different hardware platforms - in our case we use it with our Synology storage.

CONS: Sometimes newest version is not available at the same time in Synology repo but it's a small inconvenience.

CONS: At the moment there is nothing that I don't like. But if I had to say something it would be the error logs and the monitoring offered from the web panel

PROS: Backup storage space consuming by Nakivo is very less compared to other backup applications. Also, the backup repository remapping to a new backup is a wonderful feature i have used in Nakivo.

CONS: Few options such as external drive rotational, delete entire backup before running a new backup job is not available.

CONS: some individual backups have corrupted but a well designed system has multiple redundants so this is not a problem.

PROS: No matter what the problem is, there is always support available from real humans, not some sort of AI bot. Not that I needed the support very often, because I was able to resolve most issues by consulting the help pages and the knowledge base. There are even very helpful guides e.g. about VMware which don't directly have anything to do with Nakivo.

CONS: There are some aspects in the documentation that could be explained in more detail. I am not a very proficient Windows users, so I had to resort to asking support for things I didn't understand. It is no problem to me, I just think that the support should have enough resources to deal with more advanced issues .

PROS: UI is easy to learn and you set it and it works. You just need to make sure that the notification is setup properly so that you will receive updates from the server.

CONS: None

PROS: You get a lot with a very low cost. Setup is easy and can be done your self. The software has never crashed and when ever we need to restore it was reliable.

CONS: They could to an easier way to update the software.

PROS: Affordable compared to competition. Easy to use, very user friendly interface. Best customer care, I was guided every step of the way. Every question or concern I had was addressed almost immediately by all means possible i.e. Google meet calls, phone calls and email.

CONS: So far so good, I have not had a problem or anything I would wish to ask be added.

CONS: If you look on your repository itself outside of Nakivo you can't see which back-up is which. Which can be annoying when you wanna delete or move some files from repository to repository.

PROS: We implemented Nakivo Solution to backup our VmWare enviroment and since the beginning we are happy with it. We installed it on our NAS as application. This is a really good feature as we can consider our NAS a safe "black box" against the ransomware. The GUI is very clean and easy to read. We also extended Nakivo to some physical workstations and it works good.

CONS: The log section is very poor

PROS: The whole UI compared to unitrends is a lot easier to understand and use. Very straight forward to set up local backups and then replicate these backups to the cloud for minimal cost towards others.

CONS: None, seamless working for us. When we needed support they were very quick at replying and offering solutions

PROS: Price point of NAKVIO is excellent and it's backup/replication is likewise excellent. The user GUI is logical and intuitive and the NAKVIO support is excellent. Their techs are responsive and highly efficient. And the hardwoard load is very light so won't bog down your production environment when conducting a backup during business hours. Perfect

CONS: Had a few issues setting up NAKIVO as it's very different to VEEAM. Such as getting my head around the "Transporter" concept and hooking the LINUX based NAS up as the primary repository. But the tech support got me up within 10 minutes of the support call. PS I'm terrible with LINUX administration. Bare bones basic knowledge only.

PROS: the overall impression is really amaze me. easy to install, easy to manage, easy to recovery the VM and works prefectly.

CONS: My first installation was on a Synology RX820+ NAS which did not give me satisfaction after a few days with an alert on the allocated memory. So I successfully migrated to a more standard server.

CONS: Sometimes a backup ends with an error because one of the many pieces of information was not backed up correctly, as a consequence the linked cascading backups do not run.

PROS: I'm a MSP and I use to make backup service to my customers, so the thing i like the most is having a single console where i manage all the jobs for all customers.

CONS: For now there is a direct connection without vpn only for linux based virtualization system, I hope to have also for hyper-v, so there is a lot of work to integrate the customer network in the backup system

CONS: Transporter Updates: when you update the software, some transporter are not updated automatically and need to be updated manually in order to work with the new version. An automatic update process would be convenient to have.

PROS: Nakivo is also easy to installation on Qnap NAS with intuitive interface. Configuration backup job is clearly and quickly. Recovery VM from backup is very fast, also file level. Support is great. I recommend Nakivo to everyne who looking for reliable, quickly and effective backup and recovery solutions.

PROS: As experienced infrastructure engineer, I have used many different backup software in the past. After using NAKIVO on the different platforms and different scenarios I can truly say as NAKIVO providing a complete backup solution for enterprise environment covering virtual and physical infrastructure. NAKIVO backup solution is cost effective, easy and intuitive to use (installation, management, administration) software that also offering great support.

PROS: The best aspect of this product is the user friendly interface and the integration options. We use it for a windows 2019 server and 10 critical VMs. We use replication to disaster recovery every day and 3-2-1-1 backup strategy with success.

PROS: Native support for NAS deployment as application. Elastic backup scheduled job configuration. VM boot verification for data integrity compliance. Data encryption. Data deduplication to reduce storage space utilization.

CONS: Everything works as expected. We've done deep product feature analysis. There were problems with performance, but those were because of low RAM on NAS device. RAM upgrade resolved mentioned issue.

PROS: I discovered Nakivo within Synology NAS DMS applications. We needed to backup our VMs (three hosts and 8 VMs). I was very impressed by the ease of setting up and the performence. I highly recommend it for small companys with limited budget as the price is okay.

CONS: As we renewed, we had to pay for the time we didn’t had any maintenance and support. I think this is not very fair.

CONS: We had the case that a specific Linux file system couldn't be restored without restoring the full vm, but the feature has been added afterwards.

PROS: As Partner for more than one backup product we can say truly that NAKIVO compete any other product specially in Egypt Market , depend on more factors ( Cost , easability , platform support , installation scenario , Vendor support , neutrality from vendor when making deals.

PROS: Excellent backup solution for VM backups and backup synchronization with external repositories. Easy to deploy and setup. Flexible backup configuration with various setting to have fine tuned backup job. One of my favorite is "VM-verification" - VM integrity check with booted VM screenshot.

CONS: No cons at this time.
