What are the best aspects of this product?
Everyone thinks of Veeam when it comes to backup and virtualization - but Nakivo is not only more affordable, it's better for many!
Veeam needs "big" Windows servers that cost extra money - Nakivo just needs a simple NAS or a small Linux server/VM. The setup takes only a few minutes even without a manual and the use is self-explanatory. In addition, Nakivo is extremely low-maintenance! New VMs are automatically added to the backup (never forget a VM again), a complete restore or the recovery of a single file is done with a few clicks.
We never have to worry if we have a backup - it does its job reliably and unobtrusively. It doesn't matter whether it's 3 or 300 VMs.
And last but not least - the support helps even with simple questions fast, very polite and competent.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
What could work better? Nakivo could still make coffee for me ;-D Nakivo is constantly being developed further and stays on the ravages of time - so there is no reason for complaint here.
What features/services would you like to see in future versions of this product?
I can't think of anything right now - not even a little thing. We don't have an extremely "special" environment or requirements - but even if I think of the larger VMware environment at my old employer with Veeam, I can't think of anything we've ever used and Nakivo couldn't do.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
We founded a StartUp some years ago and the budget at the beginning is such a problem. Nevertheless, no reliable backup solution should be missing. That's why we looked around for an alternative to Veeam - and after a little research we found Nakivo and both sales and support from Nakivo supported us exemplary, so that the decision after a test phase quickly fell on Nakivo. And there hasn't been a moment when we have to worry - Nakivo has always been there!
