Ideal VMware backup

What are the best aspects of this product?

We came across Nakivo as a backup solution for backing up our VMware server thanks to its easily deployed virtual appliance. This saved us from having to purchase an additional Window Server license. A useful amount of documentation is provided if needed, however the web interface is very easy to follow.



The user interface is fairly intuitive in comparison to past experiences with other backup software.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

The backups are stored in a proprietary repository, meaning that recovery requires a running instance of Nakivo. There is currently no facility for exporting to VMDK on a schedule to counter this.



We started with the "free" version as opposed to the "trial" version. When we purchased a license we found we were unable to install the license and had to reinstall and setup using the trial version.

What features/services would you like to see in future versions of this product?

Exporting to VMDK on a schedule.
