PROS & CONS

What are the best aspects of this product?

No matter what the problem is, there is always support available from real humans, not some sort of AI bot. Not that I needed the support very often, because I was able to resolve most issues by consulting the help pages and the knowledge base. There are even very helpful guides e.g. about VMware which don't directly have anything to do with Nakivo.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

There are some aspects in the documentation that could be explained in more detail. I am not a very proficient Windows users, so I had to resort to asking support for things I didn't understand. It is no problem to me, I just think that the support should have enough resources to deal with more advanced issues .

What features/services would you like to see in future versions of this product?

Since Nakivo listens to their customers, they are actually in the process of implementing features I have asked for myself. They even take time to find out exactly what my needs were, and are now in the process of making a feature available in the next few months that I had requested.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

Nakivo has saved my back a number of times by making it very easy to immediately recover from an otherwise disastrous situation. In one case, it was a hardware failure of a VMware host which turned out to be due to a firmware incompatibility of a (supported) SSD drive. Until the source of the problem could be addressed, I was able to "flash boot" a backup VM of a mail server with more than a terabyte of data in a matter of minutes. In other cases, it was just the stupidity of the administrator (myself...) that resulted in deleted data. This was resolved by restoring the missing files via the web interface.
