What are the best aspects of this product?
I was using a different program before making the transition to this one and I have to say that I am impressed with how they handle creating content. I thnk that it really lets you put out what you intended to do in the first place. I had initially used this the same way I was using my previous program, which was not the best way to go about it. When I turned to the tutorials, I saw what they were trying to do and ended up liking it. I like that they have simplified the process; I no longer have to deal with a seemingly endless permutation table. Whether it is on the assembly level or on the part level, configurations are done exactly the same way. I was also impressed with how user-friendly and useful the PDM system is. It was a great idea to have it be in the cloud since I no longer have to deal with installation issues, server connectivity issues, or server maintenance. The fact that it is cloud-based also means I no longer have to worry about saving, which isw something that I definitely appreciate. Another impressive feature that I've only seen with this program is the ability to see earlier versions of the work so I can check all the steps and processes that have been performed.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
I am not happy with these program's drawings, since I feel like they do not match the usefulness of the other featyres of this program. For one thing, I have to enter chamfers manually, and when I change the chamfer size it results in the parametric relationship being broken. It also takes a lot of work to align a broken view to a related view, which is irritating to have to deal with. I also wish I did not have to either shrink drawings or make a bigger one to make it fit on the page since section views can't be broken. I'd also like to see a devoted weldment tool in future version, because the feature script currently in place doesn't work that smoothly when coming up with new profiles and requires a lot of troubleshooting in case a mistake is made. I'd also like to use the current center of mass icon for this program for design purposes. Another thing that I think would be a useful addition are section properties. Since this program is constantly updating anyway, I'm looking forward to see all these improvements implemented in the future.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
One big problem solved is the issue of storage. Since it is cloud-based, I can be confident that my client's data is safe and that I won't accidentally lose it or damage it. My rapport with customers has also improved since I can easily share content and customers can use a link to view and even export content. There's no longer a need for them to install a different tool. The design flow has also improved immensely thanks to this program's release management.
