Pixlr is a family of web-based and native mobile image editing applications. It is built using Flash, thus it requires the plug-in to work. At the moment, it is free to use and comes with no enterprise pricing fees to be concerned about.
Pixlr is an excellent choice for editors who need mobility without sacrificing the use of powerful tools. With this suite of image editors, they can use sophisticated editing paraphernalia wherever they are and regardless of which device they are on.
Additionally, Pixlr assures users that their images are kept private. Users open their files directly from their computers, tablets, or phones and the application does not, in any way, store perpetual copies of the images in their systems.
Show MoreCostless Application
Pixlr is a totally free-to-use image editing tool on the web. There are no hidden charges and users can employ it even for commercial use. This makes it a cost-effective solution especially for freelance artists and small businesses.
Versatile Solution
Pixlr can run on any browser on any operating system. This means that users can access the family of image editors regardless of the OS their computers are running on. This versatility also lets them use the web-based application on their preferred browser, whether it’s Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Explorer.
Lightweight Editor
All people need to run Pixlr on their computers is the Flash plug-in. And for iOS and Android users, the native mobile apps take only a little space and memory. This makes the editor a lightweight application that lets users run it smoothly on any device.
Quick Fixes
Pixlr may have a host of tools for complex editing processes, but it also has tools for quick fixes. This makes it convenient for those who wish to make swift touch-ups on images. This is also friendly for users who are not familiar with the complexities of photo editing but still let them come up with images that have a professional touch.
Show MoreBecause businesses have distinct business-related needs, it is prudent that they steer clear of paying for a one-size-fits-all, “perfect” software product. However, it would be almost impossible to pinpoint such application even among sought-after software systems. The sensible step to do should be to list the varied essential functions which call for a consideration including major features, pricing, technical skill ability of staff members, organizational size, etc. The second step is, you should follow through your research exhaustively. Read some of these Pixlr review articles and scrutinize each of the software systems in your list more closely. Such comprehensive research makes sure you avoid poorly fit applications and pay for the system that meets all the features your business requires.

PROS: I swear you can barely tell the difference between a paid editing tool and Pixlr. It equips me with all the basic tools that I need for my job. I love how simple and straightforward its interface is too. I can launch this on my browser and get to work right away.
CONS: It would be nice if Pixlr were to provide templates that users can use. This will be a time-saver on our part. Saving images and banners can be quite difficult on this platform too.

PROS: For a free tool, Pixlr certainly offers plenty of flexibility and editing control. This is particularly useful in my field of work in marketing. I can easily produce outputs that are polished and professional. It gives me control over my files' brightness, texture, etc.
CONS: This only works with a stable internet connection. This is the only downside I can think of because the solution itself is great to work with.

PROS: Free isn't always synonymous with a buggy and incomplete. Pixlr proves this quite well. Despite being offered to the public at no cost, this is actually an impressive tool. Its tools are comparable to Adobe Photoshop. I'm really happy I found this tool.
CONS: Copying and pasting layers are almost impossible in Pixlr. Plus, the program is heavily reliant on the internet. If you have a slow connection, you can very well say goodbye to a day of productivity.
Perfect for those who don’t have access to Adobe products.

PROS: This free online tool has been such a convenience to work with! It offers a slew of basic editing tools that I've had no trouble learning and using. As long as there is internet access, anyone can easily use this tool too and save their work in it.
CONS: You'd need to work with a speedy internet connection and a robust browser to get the best experience. Other than these requirements, Pixlr has been great so far.
My favorite photo editor!

PROS: Pixlr is my number one go-to solution for editing images. Not only does it have the tools to substantially refine the quality of my media files, but it also has plenty of effects that I can choose from. Ever since using it, red eyes in photos are no longer a problem after I've run them through Pixlr. My favorite thing about this though is that it's free to use, and I don't have to commit to downloading software.
CONS: So far, I don't have any major complaints about Pixlr. I would suggest, however, that they add more effects options to their toolbox.
Just as good as Photoshop.

PROS: First of all, Pixlr is free. If this doesn't convince you to try this out, then I don't know what will. It requires zero downloads. Plus, it has tools that almost mirror Photoshop tools too.
CONS: The ads take up a huge chunk of the browser's screen. I find it annoying to be adjusting the settings every time I visit this site too. It would be nice if they stored preferences. Resizing photos is difficult to do as well.
Just what I need for work.

PROS: At a time when most photo editors are exclusively on a subscription basis, discovering Pixlr has been such a relief. It has a complete toolbox, even comparable to that of Adobe Photoshop. And even then, it's still a lot more simple than this Adobe giant that professionals seem to prefer using. I particularly like my options for pencils, brushes, shading fills, etc. With the number of tools that this lets you use, it's a wonder why this remains free (not that I'm complaining). My final take on the matter: I recommend anyone who's looking to find a free and complete photo editing tool to use. It's not as sophisticated, but here you will have access to all the basics, and a little more. You can even use this to merge two photos together. It's truly a viable alternative to paid Adobe tools.
CONS: This is a free app, so understandably, this will be littered with ads--and it is. It's not a major cause for concern. I just get irritated by some ads.
Works well for quick image touch-ups.

PROS: I love how this solution offers advanced editing tools. Its retouch feature is one of my favorite functions. The shadow effect is perfect for adding depth to videos too. Plus, you can easily work on more than one image simultaneously in this editing platform. I find this easy to use and very intuitive.
CONS: Its effects options are not as extensive as I would like it to be.
It gets the job done without any hassle.

PROS: Pixlr Editor lets me use a slew of tools that I would otherwise only use in paid programs such as Adobe Photoshop. Here I can use different brushes, cloning tools, effects, and so much more! To top it all off, Pixlr is free and does not require me to download anything on my PC.
CONS: The filters can be quite clunky. Other than this minor issue, everything else works fine.
Photoshop’s more basic sibling.

PROS: If you need a robust and complete editing solution without committing to expensive subscription rates and clunky downloads, then Pixlr is worth exploring. It has all the basic tools that one would also find in Adobe Photoshop. The best part? It's free and you don't have to download it to your device! It's a win-win.
CONS: The placement of the ads can be quite distracting. Plus, file organization isn't Pixlr's strongest suit too. Lastly, the basic function of resizing a photo isn't quite accessible in this solution.
A viable susbtitute to Photoshop.

PROS: If you're looking for basic photo editing tools, then you won't go wrong with Pixlr. It's a lot more simple, intuitive, and usable than Adobe Photoshop. The best part is that this is absolutely free to use too! I don't know about you but this sounds like a pretty good deal to me.
CONS: I really enjoy using Pixlr, and I use this tool time and time again. However, I do have a slight issue with how it saved my finished work. It has substantial lag times too, which is annoying.

PROS: Great, simple photo editor. The free price tag makes it a no brainer for anyone that has basic photo editing to do.
CONS: There could be a little more customization of tools. But there is a balance to be conscious of - too much customization and the \"simple\" aspect becomes less and less.

PROS: I love how surprisingly complete the free version toolbox is. I can use this easily without having to download anything because it is 100% web-based. Not to mention, Pixlr is user-friendly too. If I don't understand the function of a specific wand, I can simply hover over it to get more information. Here, I am both learning and polishing my editing skills at the same time.
CONS: The ads can be quite distracting. First of all, it takes up a huge chunk of my browser's space. Second, running these ads slow down my processor quite a bit.

PROS: One of Pixlr's appeal is its usability. One can easily learn and apply their basic photo editing knowledge in it. For me, this has been the perfect practice-ground for improving my skills and understanding the basic editing tools. As a writer by profession, I love just how convenient having Pixlr around is. I can just as easily create my own banners for campaigns without having to recruit the services of a designer. This has given me more control over my outputs, and I won't have it any other way.
CONS: I have to be brief with my written content. Pixlr has a character-limit of about 280, and it's been a challenge to pare down my copies. On the bright side, I've been able to work on minimalist writing which is all the rage in this age of information.

PROS: I can attest to the convenience and robustness of Pixlr. I used to work with this tool before I finally succumbed to the use of Photoshop. Even then, these two are quite comparable. This is pretty impressive considering that Pixlr is free and Photoshop is pricey.
CONS: I've gotten used to using keyboard shortcuts with Photoshop, and I'm disappointed to note that these don't work in Pixlr. I can't import Photoshop WIPs into it too. Despite these issues, I still think that Pixlr is awesome and I recommend it to anyone who doesn't have access to Photoshop.
