What is Portnox?

Portnox is an endpoint and network security solution that provides complete security coverage – from risk reduction and compliance enforcement to device discovery, authorization, and access control. Every device connecting to the network, including the Internet of Things (IoT), Bring-You-Own-Device (BYOD), mobile, and unmanaged systems, is given automated security, visibility, and control.

The platform enables you to outsmart hackers with network and endpoint security components constantly on guard to thwart expensive cyberattacks and maintain business operations. The platform also offers the critical security features you want in a single, user-friendly cloud-native solution to secure your network and endpoints. Simply set up your instance and policies, and then you’re set.

Portnox offers all the features you require from an enterprise-grade NAC solution without complex configuration, pricey customization, or ongoing maintenance. Additionally, because network access control is 100% SaaS and entirely cloud-based, you can deploy quickly without worrying about on-premise devices, hidden fees, or vendor lock-in.

Overview of Portnox Benefits

Cloud-native Network Access Control (NAC)

With Portnox, network authentication, risk reduction, and compliance enforcement are all combined into one, cloud-native, and vendor-neutral platform. It gives you real-time visibility into endpoints attempting to connect to your network, along with additional information about them, such as their device type, location, and requested authentication access layer. Furthermore, you can use Portnox CLEAR’s robust risk assessment policy config capabilities to continuously monitor the risk stance of connected devices, including managed and BYOD ones. This will help your network administrators understand the real overall security of the network at any given time.

Ensured Compliance

Establish specific endpoint restoration policies consistent with your compliance standards to quarantine risky, non-compliant devices and automatically restore them to a healthy, compliant state. Your organization may comply with industry-specific regulatory and safety standards like GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS, GLBA, and more with the aid of Portnox CLEAR’s regulatory enforcement capabilities.

RADIUS-as-a-Service

Additionally, Portnox is offered as a lightweight yet effective set of cloud-native network authentication services. It helps overcome connection concerns by providing a local RADIUS instance that functions 24/7. When there is a connection with the cloud, it serves as a proxy in a chain, sending messages to and from the cloud RADIUS service. The cloud-based network of redundant RADIUS servers provides the cloud RADIUS service, which is used to authenticate customers attempting to access the company.

TACACS+-as-a-Service

The solution is the first and only cloud-native service for network device authentication, authorization, and accounting (AAA). True to its claim as a cloud-native solution, TACACS+ is Azure-hosted, needs no upgrades or patches, and is hardware agnostic. Authentication services can be applied via Open LDAP, or Active Directory. PortNox supports Azure AD, Microsoft AD, Google Workspaces, and OKTA. TACACS+ authorization policy features include command restrictions, session timeouts, allowed services, privilege levels, and custom attributes among others. The solution’s accounting service helps network administrators and system auditors track user activity with user identities, executed commands, start and stop times, and packet transfers across all devices. The service is available for free with 1 admin and 100 devices maximum.

Portnox Position In Our Categories

Knowing that businesses have particular business wants, it is only wise that they abstain from deciding on a one-size-fits-all, ideal software product. Nonetheless, it is troublesome to try to pinpoint such application even among widely used software solutions. The rational thing to undertake can be to write the varied vital factors that call for a scrutiny including major features, price plans, technical skill levels of staff members, organizational size, etc. The second step is, you must perform your research systematically. Have a look at some of these Portnox evaluations and scrutinize each of the applications in your shortlist in detail. Such detailed research ascertains you drop poorly fit software solutions and select the system which has all the benefits your company requires.

Portnox is one of the top 50 Network Management Software products

It's important to note that hardly any service in the Network Management Software category is an ideal solution able to match all the needs of different company types, sizes and industries. It may be a good idea to read a few Portnox Network Management Software reviews first as some solutions may perform well exclusively in a very narrow group of applications or be created with a really specific industry in mind. Others might work with a goal of being easy and intuitive and consequently lack complex elements desired by more experienced users. There are also software that support a large group of customers and offer a powerful feature base, but this in most cases comes at a more expensive cost of such a software. Be certain that you're aware of your needs so that you buy a service that provides exactly the features you look for.
