What Problems Will ProShop Solve?
A. Connecting the office and shop floor: Mary is a machinist on the shop floor. She is running a job and discovers a flaw in the fixturing which increase the chance of loading the product wrong, leading to scrap. ProShop has amazing tools to visually show John all the jobs he is responsible for and the status of all the relevant items he needs to handle. His dashboards will be instantly updated and will continue to be updated as further work is completed by other people on those jobs. PROS: Going paperless using ProShop was a huge step forward in the development of our company. ProShop has extremely good controls to monitor everything that is going on in our shop from a single computer screen. It allows us to know where all of our jobs are at, keep better controls of our process and inventory levels. It also enables us to focus on optimizing our throughput and keeping our on-time delivery high. The fact that it also includes a fully integrated QMS to manage our AS9100 system is of paramount importance. It is a very effective and low cost way to manage quality compared to a paper based system.
CONS: When we are doing intensive work it can get a bit slow at times of day. But the guys at Adion are going to release a completely new back end in 2017 that will eliminate this issue, they tell us.
