What are the best aspects of this product?

I like seeing the visibility of all transactions. I like its reporting functionality and the ease of maintaining compliance according to monetary release authority. I love it how vendors are able to submit invoices against SOs. Most of the time, Ariba is user-friendly. I've already trained several hundred external users and they haven't faced problems much.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

I don't like how their escalation rules are solely based on partition as opposed to the Business Unit rules. I was hoping we'd be able to open tabs in Ariba instead of creating a new session if we're want to multi-task. It'd be nice if their ERP Push errors were a little more clear. There have been instaces where they don't make any sense, often pushing one to frequently depend on the ePHelp desk. I was hoping there's a way where can make transaction approvals via a smart device.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

We were able to migrate vendors who previously had to send invoices to us for entry. Now they're engaged with Ariba. They can enter invoices on their own. That means removing additional work off our shoulders. At the same time, it lets them complete timing control.
