What are the best aspects of this product?
SauceLabs is fast and other solutions we have tried could not keep with VMs that are always available. Our test was from more than five hours run time on Xamarin to less than 18 minutes by influencing parallel test runners. The best thing is that there is not additional configuration and it uses Selenium Grid so we are sure that our test suites will finish it soon to give a feedback to developers. It is worth the price.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
My biggest issue is that the reporting portal is slow to load. SauceLabs is always improving their product, I have noticed changes at the dashboard but loading videos is slow and there are large lists of test runs.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
We are focusing to end-to-end testing for our iOS, Android, Mobile Web and Desktop website and SauceLabs is the only test cloud company that works with every client in the book. Its integration with third party services is hard always, but it was good to know that they could hand all our needs without contacting different providers. At the very beginning when we started to use these tests in our integration pipeline, the important features we were searching for were high availability and scalability, to make sure that our testing solution is going to grow line to line with more apps, test and teams. Scaling is simple with purchasing extra VMs that does not require and changes in the configuration, which results more efficiency. QA Engineers should focus on products testing, not configuring test infrastructure.
