What are the best aspects of this product?
If you ask me, SilkRoad is a fast and accessible software, and our HR department logs data with it every day. I think this is the most valuable feature, because data is always there and we don't have to browse thousands of documents to find somehting we need. I was not that techie at the beginning, and it took me a while to master the program, but I taught myself to navigate it and I am really happy I did it.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
The problems are mostly related to customer support and integration. For instance, when we tried to connect it to RedCarpet, all employees were automatically transferred to it, receiving an email that congratulated them on their new accounts. I think this is a mistake SilkRoad should not afford. Besides, access is too restricted for cetain user profiles, meaning that employees cannot review the process unless they have the same permissions as members of the higher HR levels.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
It simplified our oboarding processes and it made performance monitoring less complicated. SilkRoad was the last part of the RedCarpet/Wingspan puzzle to show us what these products can actually do for our work.
