What are the best aspects of this product?
The best thing about Skype is the lack of contracts tying down my resources and its great flexibility so I can grow and shrink as demand peaks and invariably troughs. The flexibility is a great benefit for my business and it's refreshing that I don't have to sign up long term.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
My major dislike would be the Skype Manager. It's complicated and requires a PayPal account for no business that wishes to authenticate itself (and it doesn't allow immediate set-up). It didn't fit my business solution and may not, even after I have authenticated my business.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
It has helped us in cost-cutting and increased service hours as instead of supporting a complicated PBX system, we have simplified and put the cost reductions towards better in-person customer support.
