What are the best aspects of this product?
Slack is a flexible and robust app that can be used for more tasks than just chat. We have integrated it with our Zendesk instance, as well as alerts, and slackbots. I am an IT expert and people use Slack to contact me throughout the day. Its mobile app matches the desktop clients when it comes to user experience. My favorite Slack features are creating custom Slack bots and integrating the app with the other business tools we use.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
The only thing I don’t like about Slack is that we have to pay for using it. However, the free apps are not as good as Slack so the investment is worth it. Some of the plug-ins and features can be hard to deploy. Slack is a hip and trendy app that almost everyone is using.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
We use Slack for a range of tasks which has saved my team energy and lots of time. We use Slack for IT alerts, for example, we send urgent network monitoring alerts to the channel for immediate action. We integrated Slack with Zendesk which is our helpdesk solution and this means we get alerts when a top priority ticket is submitted. Finally, we use Slack bots to send automated replies to customer questions.
