SoapUI Review

PROS: If you are a web service developer, then this product is right for you. The tool is excellent and easy to set up. SOAPUI offers great reports, support for Plugin and Eclipse. It is great solution for web service testing and provides you with detailed insight into technology. I found this product very intuitive and interactive with great and helpful features that helps us to make our web service more functional. And I have to say that they have great support team, they are always here to help and to listen to you.

CONS: Great tool but the interface is not what I really like. It would be great if they could change it. I don’t like to waste time with some sub-standard UI to do my job. I’m using Mac Version, but I don’t like the fact that I need to move tests within projects or steps between the projects, or in some case I need to drop a test or step part way so I can pick it up again and to move it in its place.

PROS: I've been using this tool for the past several years. I've trained a lot of people using this tool. A freeware like this isn't something you'd often come across. I recommended first-time users to try SOAPUI so they can grip Groovy a little better.

CONS: Since this is an open source tool, I don't have much complaints with this tool. It's a thing that I appreciate very much.

PROS: SOPAUI's UI is squeakly clean. Very simple to utilize. Being able to import .wsdl files makes things simple in testing systems. This is especially when dealing with a ton of APIs.

CONS: Windows keep popping up for every API. It's better off if they keep things organized in such instances.

PROS: In my opinion SOAPUI is amazing tool when it comes to web-service testing. I am able to create SOAP and Rest projects and I am even able to simulate calls to the services. Also, users are able to generate WADL files for every call that they have defined. We are able to define test cases and load WSDL files. It is a must have tool for every web-developer.

CONS: I’m using it for testing web-services, but one thing that I dislike is the organization of the software windows. Every panel has many information and lot of fields, and it is a little messy. But, I really love this product and I recommend it to everyone.

PROS: SOAPUI allows developers to test their web service. This product works great with SOAP endpoints and with JSON requests. I use it to test the services and it works wonderful. You can use WSDL file app for both locally and on the web to create sample requests for every action that belongs to WSDL. When it comes to testing and interacting with services is time testing. The other great thing is that it is a cross platform app. I use Windows and OSX version daily, and they even provide portable version of the app.

CONS: UI is old-fashioned and it can be buggy. Sometimes it’s difficult to find menus or buttons, they appear hidden or hard to find. When I work on a smaller display such as MacBookPro I face with this kind of issue, but the issues are not when I work on Windows version of the app.

PROS: The UI runs really efficiently. I'm using this tool for testing out our servlets. It's easy making projects with this thing. Just about everything can re-used.

CONS: At this point in time, nothing. The UI needs to have a more modern look. Right now, I'm using an older version since the company I'm working for has yet to make the latest updates.

PROS: I love the free version of SOAPUI, it allows me to create simple web-service mocks with no lines and by using WSDL file for the service. It is great option for making some advanced dynamic mock services and some complex suits to test the functionality of the code so I can host a web-service. The Groovy functionality allows me to write Java-like codes so I can manipulate responses and requests for web-services and to make some assertions for correctness of the responses. I am able to access a database so I can verify the contents that is modified by web-service and to use file input/output into Groovy script. It is a useful tool especially for developers so they can easily test the web-services.

CONS: I don’t like its documentation of some advanced features for the free version, and it is complicated to search through various posts about how to use the Groovy script. I had to search for pieces and to put them together. Also, there are some issues with the memory of SOAP UI, the program crashes. This happens when you allocate huge amount of memory on startup, avoid its crashes you need to select some options for logging levels, but I believe that this is problem of the software itself, they need to improve this one.

PROS: SOAP UI's features is something to have for web service developers. Personally, this tool functions really great. I love how they're doing whatever it is they can to make things functional. Good reporting and assert mood.

CONS: It's an essential tool to have no doubt. But it operates with horrible UI. They seriously need to have some UX expert to have the UI re-tooled. The last thing I want right now is wasting time away running on a crappy UI just so I can get the job done.

PROS: We want to offer end-point for our service. It can fetch all methods by means of a sample xml request. That's one standout functionality of this tool. We can also include othe projects with varying service endpoints which can then be saved within our local drive.

CONS: The UI has no suprot for a laptop running a 4K screen. As a result, I had to minimize my screen size just so this tool can be utilized.
