We use SF’s succession planning module

What are the best aspects of this product?

I was a system administrator beween 2008 and 2010 and had the chance to work with the software succession module. Their interface included Flash, and I could describe it as the most sophisticated one I've worked with so far. Customization was a fair deal too, I got to orgaize content my way, and to showcase only information that was relevant to me. Bugs were almost non-existent, which proves there is some heavy-testing prior to every release.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

Not that quick and not that well-connected. Back in the days, there was no option to assign clients as Client Success Managers, and launching Succesion tasks required special work orders. Overall, I took admins some time to cope with the work, but as I said that was back in the days. It should be better now, I think.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

Our succession data was disposed in thousand locations, and we had to do PPT presentations for every succession plan. Sounds painful,doesn't it? SF came at the right time to store our inforation systematically and to automate our processes. Everything was easier since, we had the full-picture on to-dos and ran metrics quite successfully.
