Great Software – It Easy For Users But Still Has Advanced Features For Managers

What are the best aspects of this product?

The interface is very user-friendly. If you know how to use it, you can keep everything very organized and easily plan out things that need to be done. It is really good for time tracking. I would advise using the time-tracking features even though most companies probably use a separate time tracking software. It is pretty easy to plan out a project if you are including time estimates for all your tasks. When you track time according to project, you will be amazed how different you hours are spent from what you would expect. The workload function is very good and helps you assign work efficiently (providing the estimates you put in are accurate). It integrates perfectly with Teamwork Desk so if you also want some sort of ticketing system, it may be an excellent fit. The "Everything" tab makes it really easy for regular users to quickly go in and see what they need to do without learning much about the software or project management. You can also tag almost anything in the software so tracking specific data works very well assuming you set up a tag system and follow it as you are using the software. They also have partner firms like teamworkexperttraining.com that help companies get the most out of the product. It is really easy to make changes to the projects when things do not go as planned. I\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\\'ve heard from many companies that switching to Teamwork from software like Basecamp have brought their business to a totally new level.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

It is geared toward tasks that take a matter of hours. I think big companies that use older methodologies (measuring tasks in weeks instead of hours, watching the critical path closely) have to make a bigger adjustment. There is no function or tool for finding the critical path even though there is a Gantt chart. They are about to release some better reporting features but it is somewhat limited for now (you can get basically any custom report you want using Easy Insight). The billing features are pretty limited as well. It lets you attach time to an invoice and send invoices but not much more. It is also not good if you track costs extensively at the project level. It is great for tracking time but it doesn't have budgeting features for other costs related to projects.

What features/services would you like to see in future versions of this product?

I would like a multi-project Gantt chart, critical path calculation, more customizable reporting features, cost and budgets for projects (both for dollars and hours). There are always more features to add but they will have to choose which features are most valuable for their type of customer.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

Teamwork helped us to always know what needed to be done. We could easily plan out projects and make changes while allowing every employee to see exactly what was going on. The priority feature has been very useful and is a great signal for managers to give direction to users on where to focus their time.
