What are the best aspects of this product?
WizIQ has a terrific online classroom or learning platform, which enables the teacher to present videos and power point presentations, along with uploaded pictures, maps, and a drawing board, and teacher and student can see each other by camera and work one on one. Other great features are the bookkeeping system for teacher-emails are automatically sent to students when an online class is created or scheduled. An automatic record of whether or not a student was contacted is kept. Recording of classes are archived, so teachers can revisit these classes. This is also helpful for administration evaluating a teacher.
What aspects are problematic or could work better?
Occasionally the video would freeze during class in the past, but this was probably taken care of with upgrades to the system. The inconvenience of the video freezing was sometimes frustrating for students.
What features/services would you like to see in future versions of this product?
As a teacher, I would like to see an easy way to access materials used in class in the Wiz IQ library. There was one master list, and if the lists were sorted by subject matter or grade, it would make faster and easier access by online teachers. This is also important if there was reinforcement work to be do in a certain subject-rather than scrolling through the master list, it could be found as it was categorized by subject.
What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?
Presentation of classroom materials were solved, and also any strengths or weaknesses a student had could readily be diagnosed by the teacher, since there was real-time audio and video. For instance, if a student is reading a story aloud or answering study questions, the teacher can notice anything that needs prompting or correcting immediately, or upload need diagnostic work in an area.
