PROS & CONS

What are the best aspects of this product?

I am currently using ZipBooks to manage a very small engineering consulting and contracting business. This tool is excellent for bookkeeping, tracking expenses and income, sending invoices and receiving payments. It also includes the excellent feature to track time spent on different projects and different tasks within those projects, which can all be billed at different rates. This is so valuable for anyone charging hourly rates who is looking to consolidate their business tools.

On top of all of the features, the user interface is extremely simple for someone without an accounting background to pick up and use right away. The support team also is very responsive! And new features are being rolled out very frequently.

What aspects are problematic or could work better?

The only improvement area I can think of is if there were more tutorial videos available. Although I was able to pick up and use the tool effectively without any training, my lack of accounting knowledge eventually caught up with me and I needed to contact their support team (who was very responsive).

What features/services would you like to see in future versions of this product?

A good Android app would make uploading receipts much easier.

What specific problems in your company were solved by this product?

Converting tracked time for projects to invoices! Zipbooks makes this completely effortless with easily importing unbilled time and expenses into automatically generated invoices to be sent to your customers. Huge time saver!!
