Tracking assets using MapYourTag begins by assigning tags to assets. This is done in two ways which is through barcode, QR code, or NFC tag flashing or scanning, and using custom IDs. The first method is executed by simply scanning a barcode or QR code, or reading an NFC tag attached to an asset using the MapYourTag mobile app. NFC or Near Field Communication tag is a  type of RFID or Radio-Frequency Identification tag which transmits information to a reader without the need to directly point the tag to the reader.
