QGIS Review

PROS: I love that this software can be configured by editing its scripts. A large number of professionals are working on QGIS and the improvements being done are very apparent. I seldom encounter program errors when using QGIS. It is an efficient and reliable tool.

CONS: I would like QGIS better if output templates are readily available on the onset. This would lessen the time necessary for configuring settings when doing layout. Some of QGIS’s capabilities, like its search feature, need to be improved to be on par with other GIS applications.

PROS: This software presents a lot of potential for geospatial analysis.

CONS: Some features are not easy to understand and use.

PROS: QGIS is a very efficient tool that allows for even multitasking. I have been using it for years now. It has advanced features that let you create your maps with greater freedom. It also has top-notch statistical capabilities.

CONS: Some features of QGIS do not function as well as expected. I encountered some synchronization issues while working with it on my computer. I hope this same issue will not be present in future versions of the software.

PROS: This free and open-source software has every one of the features other products are asking you to pay for. It is packed with various plugins that you can use to analyze data. You can choose from its various integrations when computing or performing interpolations like GRASS, SAGA, and Geoalgorithms. QGIS has its limitations in terms of area range. Its strength is in its many functionalities.

CONS: Improvements could be made on QGIS to make it more user-friendly. Performing analysis with it can sometimes be a problem. Some municipalities do not recommend their use.

PROS: QGIS is perfect for people who are new to exploring GIS applications. It is well-designed and has all the advanced features of other applications. It also comes with a whole community that will help you learn how to fully navigate it and maximize its usability. Tutorials and forums are available at your disposal as well.

CONS: I had a minor issue concerning the system language. I specifically had trouble trying to work with words that are in French. This issue might also be a concern for people who will need or prefer to use languages other than English.

PROS: I use this software mainly when performing geographical data analysis, particularly when working with GPS data. I love that it can be downloaded easily and for free. It is also updated frequently and is available in many versions. It is well-designed and has complete features. Overall, I can say that QGIS is a straightforward and powerful tool.

CONS: Although QGIS’s features are not as advanced as ArcGIS, it is capable of handling various data types in large sets.

PROS: I commend the makers of this GIS application for its high usability. I have been relying on this software for years in performing my job as a scientist. I have not found any other software that works as well for me as QGIS does. It is also the most cost-effective GIS software on the market as it is free.

CONS: There were times when we encountered problems with synchronizing this with our devices and some of its features did not work as well as expected.

PROS: The developer of this software is highly commendable. QGIS has been working well for us. We encountered no issues while downloading this. It has also been smooth-running from pre- to post image processing.

CONS: I found it hard to navigate to the newer versions at first as some features are made completely anew. Older versions are also more stable in my opinion

PROS: With QGIS, you can manipulate spatial data without a problem. You can also configure codes if you are knowledgeable in python.

CONS: I encountered some technical problems while using GRASS functionalities.

PROS: QGIS is a highly accessible application. It is free, light, and compatible with most devices. It also has a wide range of useful plugins. One of its plugins which I find extremely useful is qgis2web. I export my projects to web maps with this plugin.

CONS: Improvements could be made on QGIS’ GUI. The processing capabilities of the installed desktop version could also be improved.

PROS: QGIS is a solid and reliable software. It comes with all the features that you need to pay for in other GIS applications.

CONS: I am extremely satisfied with this software. I found nothing to dislike about it.

CONS: Using QGIS has been a trouble-free experience for me so far. If there is anything, its many features could be quite overwhelming at first. Its interface could be improved for it to be more user-friendly.

PROS: QGIS has been extremely useful for me in performing statistical analysis and creating disease distribution maps. It’s a good thing that you can use this software free of charge.

CONS: I encountered issues in synchronizing the geographic coordinate system. There were times when the program did not function as well as expected and it froze.

PROS: QGIS has many capabilities that make it perfect for saving and restoring projects. It offers a wide range of features and is equipped with several plugins to cater to each one of your GIS needs.

CONS: We sometimes encounter errors when performing advanced tasks with this software. Improvements could be made on its GUI. Documentation should also be made available on all its plugins.
