CONS: We did encountered problems with the solution’s integrations and API in the past. But everything was also fixed in no time. Smartling team is very responsive and prioritize their end user’s concerns all the time.

PROS: I think the best thing about this solution is the preview mode. I’m able to see how the content will appear when published and gives me an opportunity to check for errors.

CONS: I find the email notifications quite useless. They don’t give helpful information. It would help if they include more details on it.

PROS: The solution is very sophisticated, constantly updated, and got great and knowledgeable translators. I really like the people behind this solution. They are awesome and one chat away whenever we encounter problems with the system or just need some answers. They always have answer to our queries and solutions to our issues. And they don't make us wait.

CONS: Some amazing functionalities are not always signposted. We are able to find some incredible features by trial and error. Would be definitely helpful if they would be more transparent so we, users, would be able to maximize the value of the product immediately with ease. Also, some of the processes are quite confusing.

PROS: The whole Smartling team has been beside us every step of the way - from setting up the GDN, translating our content, to fixing minor issues we encountered. They ensure that the translations are high quality. I love their cheerfulness and professionalism.

CONS: I have to log into the system more frequently to monitor untranslated content changes. It would be nice if they provide an automated reminder or notification for this.

PROS: It's smooth integration with our web's CMS allows us to translate really fast. One feature, the fact translator, can quickly identify if we change a copy on site. This is very useful because we're doing a lot of switches between info and messages. It's wide-range of language support is helpful too.

CONS: The onboarding process' speed wasn't impressive. It must be noted, however, that Smartling's Contentful connector was still on beta at that point. Also, accurasy-wise, the translation's quality is perfect. But it needs guidance when delivering the right marketing message tone which is extra hard for small companies that don't have multilingual personnel.

PROS: The tool is indeed amazing for locizing websites but what made us stick on this solution is their incredible team. Right from the beginning, they have given us undivided attention and ensured that our needs are met. The team is always able to answer our questions immediately and effectively and helps us fix concerns as soon as we raise it to them. It is also great that each client has his or her own customer success manager. Overall, I can say that this tool is a great partner in localization. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for this kind of tool.

CONS: I am using this solution in mobile and there is a possibility of performing short translation from it.

PROS: We are able to create an automated workflow which makes our product localisation fast, straightforward, and consistent.

CONS: Understanding the history of a certain translation or string is challenging. Also, the search functionality is not easy to use.

PROS: The standout feature for us is the product's automation capability because our translation workflow has been significantly streamlined thanks to that.

CONS: Smartling does not support React Native yet which is very unfortunate for us because it means that we can't utilize some of its advanced features like dynamic amends and visual context. The good news, however, is that their team have told us that they're working on providing that support. They're working with us also for that project.

PROS: The tool is directly connected to our site, making the translation process seamless and very dynamic. We are able to absorb the translated content during the testing phase.

CONS: I feel like most translators still depends a lot on files for translating contents so adding more features for file-based translation would be great. Also, it would be nice if users would be given more control on their content being managed offline via files like PowerPoint or Excel. I also have concerns with the SmartMatch feature. Sometimes, translated contents are pushed live even without our approval. It can be a problem especially when there are wrong translation.

PROS: We are able to consolidate our translations in one solution. But I think the top perk of using this solution is the speed of translation. We're now able to complete our translation projects faster than before. I also like the Platinum support. It has been very helpful to us.

CONS: When you use a third-party LSP, it's quite hard to get feedback across to translators.

PROS: Top-notch customer support. Their team is really knowledgeable in this field, can answer all our questions effectively, and has guided us in making important decision. Also, they are easy to reach whenever a need for assistance arises. The tool works great btw.

CONS: The availability of the Smartling support team does not always align with our schedules. So it's a big problem when we need to get something done or an issue arise outside their working hours.

PROS: The system’s uptime is excellent for almost two years! There is no need to add complex CRM is order to have a localisation layer on the top of our current site.

CONS: Nothing. Right now, we are using the GDN product. But there is also an option to use the Drupal native integrations and would love to try it in the future.

PROS: There are lots of available features but what I really like is its Global Search Function which allows me to search for strings across projects and across language. This capability has been essential to our success. Overall, this tool lets me do everything in one location. I am able to perform translations, manage tasks, track string progress, view what the LSPs are up to, edit the translation memory and push the changes out to all our projects, and many more. It has made my job and life easier.

CONS: The wide array of available capabilities and features are overall good but we just cannot help but to get overwhelmed at times. Sometimes, it takes me a while to find the tools I need. It is not a big deal though

PROS: It lets me collaborate with our project assigners efficiently. Also, this tool has helped me organized my translation tasks.

CONS: The tool only allows you to open one project at a time, making it quite hard to work on multiple projects simultaneously. It would be nice and really helpful if the projects can be opened in separate tabs when you click the “View Project”. This way, we do not have to go back to the tool’s “Projects Dashboard” just to see another project. Not a deal breaker though.
