The Email Laundry delivers a newly registered domain lookup service that permits users to blacklist the IP addresses of newly registered domains that are used for sending malicious emails. Interestingly, they will be able to check and block suspicious domains in less than 24 hours since the time they got registered, preventing attackers in taking advantage of the 24-48 hour delay in the publication of newly registered domains to send malicious emails.

Rank And Block Suspicious IP Addresses

The solution also uses AS rankings or assignment rankings to identify and block suspicious IP addresses. This is a process by which groups of IP addresses are given scores or rankings based on the probability that they will be sending out spam or malicious attacks. Here, historical data is gathered showing the actions or activities associated with the IP addresses. Thus, when a group of IP addresses contains IPs that are classified as bad IPs, users can easily identify and block it.

Passive DNS

Passive DNS is another technique that The Email Laundry is using. In this technique, DNS requests are collected, analyzed, and stored through the aid of sensors that are installed on DNS servers. Passive DNS permits users to identify the IP addresses that domains are pointing to, especially at times when there are network security breaches. This technique also allows users to discover other domains used for malicious attacks.
