DbVisualizer is an intuitive multi-database tool that enables developers, programmers, analysts, and database administrators to manage and consolidate databases across multiple platforms in one location. Running on all major operating systems, this database solution integrates with some of the most widely used database software on the market. As a result, using the software effectively streamlines your programming workflows and minimizes the likelihood of errors. It also has a clean and easy-to-use interface that shortens the learning curve in getting acquainted with all of its functionalities.
DbVisualizer is feature-rich, offering an array of smart tools for you to leverage. Its interface lets you customize tables from their appearance to their arrangement, down to their command functions. First-time users can easily link databases across different software through the platform’s connection wizard. You can pull data or entire tables from applications like Azure SQL Database, Amazon Redshift, DB2, and MySQL, among many others. This fosters efficiency since you don’t have to run multiple apps to extract information.
Moreover, visualizing databases is made easy with DbVisualizer. You can navigate and customize the items on databases and incorporate them as you prepare and edit tables. Complex queries are actualized by leveraging the platform’s Query Builder through which items are dragged and dropped across tables. Reference graphs are also provided so you can analyze the structure and integrity of tables. Meanwhile, its SQL Commander feature lets you execute advanced queries, whose results are presented in grids, text, or charts.
As an IDE, DbVisualizer simplifies the coding process with syntax highlighting and its autocomplete feature. With this, syntax errors are easily spotted and modified. SQL scripts can also be run without the need for displaying the GUI, which hastens the process. Furthermore, the software has a tool called Explain Plan that is used to optimize queries. In leveraging the tool, you can quickly test and alter queries to guarantee performance.
DbVisualizer is equipped with strong security features to limit the access of your workspace to only the members of your team. The vendor also takes note of the suggestions of users, so the platform further improves over time. Interested parties can pick from three pricing packages, starting with a free plan.
Show MoreConvenient Database Management
DbVisualizer is equipped with a full range of features to streamline database management. Its database browser allows you to easily navigate through database objects, execute specific actions related to the objects, and explore database object details. It also enables users to execute actions for multiple database objects in a single operation.
For instance, developers can remove multiple tables from a database at once. If they want to create, edit, compile or execute procedural language objects such as procedures and functions that are supported as well.
Dynamic SQL Tools
Tools for editing and executing SQL statements and creating SQL queries are built within DbVisualizer. The software’s query builder allows you to develop SQL queries even if you only have limited knowledge and expertise when it comes to SQL syntax. As such, you can visually create queries by simply dragging and dropping tables, joining columns. Developers, on the other hand, can easily reverse engineer SQL statements through the platform.
Painless Coding
The SQL editing tool of DbVisualizer makes it easy for users to find out if there are errors in their SQL scripts through the aid of its error highlighting feature. This helps them save more time as they execute SQL testing. Meanwhile, the interface also has an autocomplete feature that accurately predicts parts of the code and offers several suggestions to users. Instead of typing entire lines of code, you can simply click through some of them to speed up the process.
Centralized Task Monitoring
The database software makes multitasking a breeze. This is because developers can monitor other database management tasks that are running in the background while they are currently working on a particular task. They can check the status of multiple tasks from a central area.
Strong Security Features
To ensure that only the members of your team can access the workspace, you can set a master password, which is requested by the software through each session. An extra layer of security can be applied to databases by having them encrypted by the platform via its SSH feature. Furthermore, DbVisualizer saves your work automatically, allowing you to pick up where you left off in succeeding sessions.
Show MoreProblem: Pulling information from a wide variety of database applications causes a lot of confusion.
Solution: DbVisualizer integrates with many of the most widely used database applications on the market. As such, users can easily pull data across multiple platforms to create tables and other visuals. Moreover, they can configure objects, tables, and even functions and triggers. This creates a convenient and efficient workspace for developers and programmers.
Problem: Lack of coding knowledge
Solution: DbVisualizer doesn’t require users to be highly knowledgeable in many programming languages. It has a visual query builder so that users with no coding skills can manage databases across multiple applications. Instead of writing code, you can prepare flowcharts, visualize tables, and navigate databases. Items can be dragged and dropped into the diagram area.
Problem: Coding errors are slowing down operations.
Solution: DbVisualizer highlights syntax errors so you can quickly perform the necessary adjustments. What’s more, the platform has a Client Side Commands feature that lets them create advanced SQL as well as a command-line interface that can automate repetitive tasks. This lets developers and programmers save time in preparing and editing queries. It also helps users optimize queries and test the performance of each.
Because companies have special business-related demands, it is only logical that they abstain from subscribing to an all-encompassing, ideal software product. At any rate, it is hard to pinpoint such an app even among well-known software solutions. The reasonable thing to undertake should be to make a list of the numerous major factors which merit deliberation including major features, price terms, skill levels of staff members, organizational size, etc. Thereafter, you should double down on the research thoroughly. Browse through some DbVisualizer review articles and look over the other software systems in your shortlist in detail. Such all-encompassing product research ensures you drop unfit applications and pay for the one which provides all the benefits your business requires.

It is important to realize that virtually no app in the IT Management Software category is going to be an ideal solution that can match all the goals of various company types, sizes and industries. It may be a good idea to read a few DbVisualizer IT Management Software reviews first as specific services might dominate just in a really narrow group of applications or be created with a very specific industry in mind. Others can work with a goal of being easy and intuitive and therefore lack complex functions welcomed by more experienced users. You can also come across apps that focus on a large group of customers and offer a rich feature toolbox, but that frequently comes at a more significant price of such a software. Be certain that you're aware of your requirements so that you select a solution that has specifically the functionalities you search for.

PROS: This product provides all the benefits of a SQL IDE and it is cross-platform compatible. I use it mostly on Linux and it has been a wonderful replacement for SQL Server Management Studio when dealing with MS SQL servers and has been so nice to bring those features to the other types of databases that we use in the organization as well. This is an excellent product and it works very well. It is well written and runs well on Windows or Linux I have used it on both systems.
CONS: Sometimes Java can be finicky with font sizing and stuff on High DPI screens but that seems to have been resolved in the latest versions of the program.
The least favorable review
PROS: I’ve been a user since the early days in 1999. The ability to connect to pretty much any data source in a single common interface was what first caught my attention. When the paid release came out with added features, I was in. This is one of those tools I’ve gladly supported and utilize daily.
CONS: I also use a code editor from JetBrains. It’s built in data handling has an ability to jump to any object definition with a click. That is very handy when working with code, and SQL. DbVis can quickly load a definition, and can generate an objects DDL, but it’s a couple steps to do so. Enhancing this might be a strong check in the “pro” column.
