Overview of DoubleClick Benefits

DoubleClick highlights its DoubleClick Ad Exchange Program. Ad Exchange is a marketplace, which allows advertisers and publishers to buy and sell ad spaces or ad inventory through live auction and real time bidding. Basically, advertisers have two options where they want their ads to be displayed: search network and display network.

A search network is simply advertising through search engines, where customers are typing in keywords. On the other hand, advertising through a display network means publishing ads on websites that reserve pages or spaces for such ads. DoubleClick Ad Exchange, thus, offers advertisers a network of websites where they can have their ads published.  

Furthermore, DoubleClick Ad Exchange provides web publishers opportunities to efficiently monetize their ad inventory. It is  using the CPM ad pricing model. CPM stands for cost per thousand impressions. In this method, the website owner or web publisher is paid by an advertiser for impressions left by the latter’s ad to a visitor. Hence, the web publisher earns money when visitors view the ads on his or her website, regardless if they click them or not.

Web publishers will be able to set minimum CPMs they are willing to sell their ad inventory for. This promotes competition among advertisers, as some of them may bid more for available inventory. Web publishers can also make configurations to specify and classify the advertisers whom they want to sell their  ad inventory to.

DoubleClick Ad Exchange offers web publishers flexible ways of displaying ads on their websites. It enables them to configure the combinations of ads on their site. With this capability, they will be able to address and resolve issues related to bounce rate, time on site, and click through rates.

Meanwhile, as a digital marketing campaign management solution, DoubleClick enables advertisers to create, manage, and track their ad campaigns across search engines. It provides data and reports, recording the pre-defined actions of visitors and consumers on their own website. It automatically provides reports when someone purchases an item or requests product information through the advertiser’s website.

Moreover, through the aid of  DoubleClick Search, a digital marketing tool, advertisers will be able to track and designate conversions to specific ad campaigns.  When customers or consumers  purchase or send inquiries on an advertiser’s website, DoubleClick Search records and reports this as a conversion.

Furthermore, they can also upload data on offline portions of a conversion to DoubleClick Search. This option is used in some cases when customers initiate some online actions, such as clicking adds or researching online for a purchase, but complete the purchase offline.

A specific example of this is when a customer taps the “call now” button in the ad but purchases the item over the telephone. In this scenario, DoubleClick will automatically provide data on the online portion: tapping the “call now”button. For the offline portion, advertisers need to upload the data to DoubleClick Search. Conversion data aids advertisers measure the effectiveness of their ad campaigns. Furthermore, it will help them evaluate their  advertisement spending and the ROI they are getting from it.
