Conflict of Interest checks for new clients

Prior to LEX247 onboarding of new clients for enterprise size law firms was a long and daunting process, which could involve calling each of their offices, check past documents, review archived cases, screen opponents, and clients etc.

With LEX247 the user executes an automatic conflict of interest check that will check all relationships between clients and opponents in previous cases or ongoing cases/pre-cases, also supporting external data sources such as CRM, or other case management systems used in other offices (that have not yet been migrated to LEX247), to ensure there are no conflicts of interest prior to accepting the client.

What’s more is that LEX247 has the concept of pre-cases (called case requests) which allows lawyers to start registering billable time to a new potential client as they would do in a regular case without polluting the client database of the firm, also with possibility for Partners to limit who can accept a case request with a new client.

2) Billing and Invoicing

Before LEX247, a billing process for a large law firm could take days or weeks. Enterprise grade firms normally use a semi-digital process where they would print an invoice, different lawyers and departments would write changes on it, then the legal assistant would make those changes in their IT system and repeat the whole process again. Once the finalized invoice was ready they would go around and gather signatures of the case managers. If lawyers from multiple countries were working on the same case, things would get a lot more complicated.

Using LEX247 the whole process was reduced to hours from up to few days. For law firms time is money so saving hours of non-billable work is a big deal. This way lawyers are happier, customers are happy with the increased transparency and efficiency of the firm and most importantly the law firm gets paid faster.

LEX247 uses advanced AI to automatically capture time as you work, when reading/sending emails when attending meetings and time spent on phone calls.

These will be presented in a captured time log where the user can easily register the time or dismiss it, this minimizes the risk to lose any billable time during the fast pacing work days of a lawyer.

If for example client “A” calls his lawyer on his mobile phone, LEX247 automatically captures that time and allocates it to the proper case.
