Clio Position In Our Categories

Since companies have their own business-related needs, it is only wise they avoid seeking an all-in-one, ”best” solution. Nonetheless, it would be difficult to try to find such a software product even among branded software products.
The efficient thing to do is to spell out the various significant factors which demand investigation such as major features, packages, technical skill capability of staff, organizational size, etc. After which, you should conduct your research systematically. Have a look at some Clio reviews and look over each of the applications in your list in detail. Such detailed product investigation ascertains you drop unsuitable apps and buy the system which offers all the tools you require company requires.

If you are interested in Clio it might also be beneficial to analyze other subcategories of Law Practice Management Software collected in our base of SaaS software reviews.

Organizations have diverse needs and requirements and no software application can be perfect in such a condition. It is futile to try to find an ideal out-of-the-box software product that fulfills all your business wants. The intelligent thing to do would be to customize the application for your special needs, worker skill levels, budget, and other factors. For these reasons, do not hurry and subscribe to well-publicized popular applications. Though these may be widely used, they may not be the best fit for your specific requirements. Do your research, investigate each short-listed system in detail, read a few Clio Law Practice Management Software reviews, contact the seller for clarifications, and finally select the application that provides what you want.

PROS: I like that you can keep each client separate and also each case. This is useful because a few clients have multiple cases. Plus, you can use different methods of contact information. The customer support is prompt and responsive, and quickly resolved a couple of issues I had with the system.

CONS: There are a few drawbacks. I am not able customize fields in many areas. Things get deleted in the calendar and they disappear after that. The billing feature is strange. You have to make the payment for one bill and then move onto the next. This means if you have two bills of $100 and $300 for a single client, and they make a payment of $400, you have to post it as two payments, one for the $100 bill and the other for the $300 bill. This makes the clients uncomfortable when they don’t see any payments of $400 in the system. Plus, it forces us to maintain documentation in notes which takes up our time.

PROS: Name recognition, nice colors, snappy time keeper, easy to launch with username and password, company is great at promoting itself but not really offering much of substance or use to me in my law practice. The review page is neat looking but REQUIRES a user to say at least 300 characters of nice things about the company.

CONS: Not a very useful platform for my law practice and the company refused to waive the auto-renewal feature of the license ($600/year) despite my attempt to cancel via a direct email to them. I understand their policy of requiring cancellations to be made via online to avoid unauthorized cancellations, but to use that as a justification for keeping my $600 when I wasn't using their product at all, coupled with the fact that there was no dispute that I was in fact the one who emailed them to cancel, strikes me as another case of auto-renew money grab.
