Overview of OmniMD Benefits

OmniMD is not a “one-size-fits-all” platform. Some EHR platforms are difficult to use and time-consuming, as they lack or don’t have specific functionalities built for different medical specialties. OmniMD provides workflows, macros, and templates that are exclusively designed to address the requirements of different medical specialties. These specialties include Cardiology, Nephrology, OB/GYN, Urgent Care, Occupational Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pain Management, Wound Care, Pediatrics, Vascular Surgery, Allergy and Immunology, Chiropractic, Psychiatry, Family Practice, and more.

Users will be able to quickly document their patient visits; and accurately chart their diagnosis, treatment, and management for the specific conditions and problems of their patients that need to be uniquely addressed and carried out within their own specialty.

Furthermore, OmniMD has a feature which streamlines the patient check-in process. This feature is called Patient Check-In Kiosk. Through this feature, patients will be able to access their personal information or update or correct them, if needed, before the physician or clinician sees them. This information includes demographics, insurance, and family, surgical, medical, and social histories.

The Patient Check-In Kiosk can also be used by clinic staff to prepare the patient for physician questioning. Consent forms and pre-appointments questionnaire are easily accomplished using this feature. Patients can access the Patient Check-In Kiosk from their tablet; and through this feature, clinicians will be able to spend more time with their patients, improving their delivery of patient care.

OmniMD is also a highly interoperable EHR solution. The software has the capability to connect with the systems and applications that other clinics, hospitals, laboratories, and billers are using. OmniMD is offering an advanced HL7 interface engine. HL7 stands for Health Level 7, and it is a set of international standards used by different healthcare providers in transferring clinical and administrative data from their software and applications.

Thus, HL7 allows healthcare providers to communicate with one another, even though they are using different systems, software, and applications. OmniMD’s HL7 interface engine enables physicians and clinics to connect with their care network, improving the delivery of healthcare to patient populations.

PROS: I have been using this software for several years. It allows things to be done.

CONS: It's clunky, outdated, looks like it was built in 2005. But worst of all, they periodically force reviews on you. Yes, you can hit "skip" but it will pop up every single time you login until you review. So I reviewed it as dreadful. And I didn't want to discuss it with them. They called me on the phone demanding to know why I had reviewed it as dreadful, and when I said that I didn't care to discuss it and hung up, THEY DISABLED MY ACCOUNT. Absolutely petty and unprofessional. I wasn't planning to air their dirty laundry, but this is too much, so here we are. They said that they had disabled it because they "couldn't reach me" and "what would you do if you couldn't reach a patient?" as if I would simply drop a patient because I couldn't reach them. This is problematic for multiple reasons, not the least of which is that I did answer the phone, I simply didn't want to discuss it with them, which is my right. They then tried to get me again to explain my negative review as a condition of turning it back on. Here's the thing: if I can't reach a patient, I can't just stop their care- I have a legal obligation to show multiple tries of contact- including a certified letter. I also would LOSE MY LICENSE if I forced patients to review my services and then extorted them with access if they didn't explain to me why they weren't happy. I've worked with EHRs that I don't care for over the years, but I have never, ever seen this level of unprofessionalism.
