Oracle Agile PLM Review

PROS: It is a total package when you think of it. With minor customizations and configured workflows that will meet the bigger part of the clients’ needs, you are good to go with this tool. Although the configurations are already built in, you can do more or extra to suit your needs. You can custom the product in some areas ha need emphasis based on the uniqueness of your needs and then achieve your objective. The ready-made templates help to same time for most users when they want to configure them according to their business needs. In sort, it cuts the hustle of having to create a template from scratch.

CONS: It comes with some few glitches that need addressing and ironing for the developers of Oracle Agile. When it comes to providing a solution to a client using the forms, it can be a little bit tricky. The forms are complex which should not be the case when presenting a solution to the client. It would be better if they were easy to understand as this would complement our objective. Also, solutions to problems or needs are located at the vertical section of the form. In some cases, those solutions do not necessarily match with the corresponding need or issue. This can be confusing altogether and thus need for improvement on that issue.

PROS: It is what we needed in terms of cost and how well it operates in terms of product lifecycle management solutions. We scaled most similar products in the market and Oracle Agile proved to be cost effective. T comes configured to help you get started right away. Despite this, it is easy to use and has a dashboard that strives to increase your visibility of the projects. This means that, while on the dashboard, you will be able to see the progress of each project and thus reliable. It gives you a better angle to manage your projects without much hustle.

CONS: Despite it having all the features that you could want in a project life cycle management solution, Oracle Agile has it downside. Since it comes with the configurations, it has proven to be much work. You have to configure different for a different project which can be time consuming and confusing at times. You cannot use a configuration for one project in a new project. Every time you undertake a project with a new configuration, once you are done, it goes back to the default template. It would be better if there as only a one time configuration to make things easier and offer smooth workflow for users.

PROS: It is none like other. In my line of work, I have tested other products that relate to this one but I have not experienced the simplicity that comes with Oracle Agile. Any user can get started in no time and have their way in managing the product life cycle of a product they are developing. It offers great user experience with easy to navigate features that will set the workflow on the move. If you have users who are not tech savvy, you do not have to worry about training them as getting acquainted with this tool is bliss. You can also configure it with ease to suit the needs of your business.

CONS: It is a tool which has built-in templates to help you get started with ease. However, such a feature comes with its downsides in that the tool is not as flexible as it should be. It will not be possible to configure some of the items in the tool for your liking. With this kind of product, you will not be able to enjoy full customization and thus some unique businesses which need full customization may be limited. With such flexibility lost, it will be impossible or difficult to gather change approvals from the system. All in all, if you are looking for tool that offers seamless product life cycle management solutions, then Oracle Agile is that pick.

PROS: It is what you would need to manage a team and projects in your business. You can configure it according to your business needs. With Oracle Agile, we have been able to improve the collaboration of our team members and see the status of a task. It allows you to manage your team and projects in an organized manner. With the notification feature, you will be able to keep track of the progress of the each project and who has been assigned what task. It easily integrates with other enterprise business systems thereby giving your business the flexibility it needs. For the purpose of auditing and accountability, you can pull up data of past tractions for every user.

CONS: Although it integrates well with enterprise system, there are few things that need to be looked at. When it comes to training, there is no system which is built-in to help with this. This also goes for the life cycle management solution the tool brings. It would be great if such systems were built-in to make it easy when you are tracking a project or a product. The developers of this product should find a way or come up with a module that is intuitive to help with the training. This in return would complement the features the tool has and make it easy for any business to switch to Oracle Agile.

PROS: It helps users or teams to work on similar projects remotely. When managing projects, you will have to improve the level of collaboration they have to increase efficiency and productivity in general. Oracle Agile does that for you. It creates a platform where everyone can join in as data is being retrieved from other sources to help with the project. The team will therefore take their roles and communicate with each other to see to the success of the project. Apart from that, it helps to sync data from both internal and external pools of data. You can also retrieve data with ease from the system when the need arises.

CONS: The learning curve for this product is there when you are dealing with new users. New users need to take time and train how to go around the features that come with this product life cycle management solution. This is because it does not have a simple interface for users. Apart from that, the integration part of the product with other tools is not as you would expect. It would be better if it integrated well with third party applications which will add to how well it delivers its solutions. All in all, you are bound to get the most out of this tool as it has a lot to offer for your project management needs.

PROS: The user interface is simple for both the users and clients. When it comes to how easy it is to use, our staff can get up to speed with its features and find their way around with ease. This is compared to the product life cycle management tool we were using before this, Legacy. It was complex and did not have simple user interface. As such, the switch to the Oracle Agile was bliss on our part and that of our clients. It integrates well with HPQC and thus allows us to easily test and track cases on the go. With this product, importing data from other sources is simple which allows you to collect and manage it with ease on the same platform.

CONS: The fact that it has built-in configuration templates makes it reliable up to a certain point. However, this comes with limitations on the features you can configure to suit your business needs. It only offers limited configuration option as everything else is done for you. It does not factor in that all businesses are unique and thus have unique needs. With that said, customization is not well defined based on the needs of the user which brings about deployment problems of the tool. Also, here are navigation options which do not make sense on the part of the user. This can be confusing to large extent.

PROS: It is as easy to use as they come. You will not find another similar tool in the market that is easier to use as Oracle Agile. When it comes to training, you do not need it. It is like using the internet altogether and you are done. You can search for any data you want without even having prior experience or any form of training. With the BOM configuration, you will be able to store any data that you want for future revisions. It allows you to attach files and data which can be referenced or retrieved with ease whenever you want. You can customize the interface such that you include the manufacturer’s pace and make it a click away to access all information that relates to that manufacturer. On top of that, it gives you the power to configure the system according to your business needs.

CONS: It lacks the basics that most databases related applications apply. For example, it does not apply any rule when it comes to data entry. It could be better if there was some sort of a rule when entering data as it is demanded from all database-related tools. Although it produces reports to help you understand the data you have collected, those reports as not as we expected. They can be confusing at times in terms of interpretation. Also, when you use the client application and the web application, you are supposed to have similar experience or they should offer you with the same services. This is not the case with this product as they are different in terms of functionality.

PROS: It is an all-round product life cycle management solution. When it comes to customization, it gives you the better part of it. You can customize it according to the needs of your business or product you are developing. From adding new classes to roles within the system, you can achieve this to increase productivity and improve efficiency with which you manage your product all the way. It is a powerful tool for any type of product development project in terms of how it has been designed. It addresses the needs of your project in full while it integrates all data into one location for ease of tracking activities, teams, and management of the same.

CONS: I do not have any problem with how the tool works. I cannot even think of anything negative to point out from it. But with a close and keen eye, I would say that some businesses would think of it to be too costly for their business processes. However, this would be the case if you are looking it in terms of short term goals. It might be costly when you look at it from that angle. However, the cost, is just a quote, which will break-even in terms of the return on investment if you are in it for the long term.
