What is ServiceChannel?

ServiceChannel is a system used for managing repair and maintenance across all locations from a single hub: the Dashboard. The system comprises of four core modules i.e. Find (contractor management), Manage (service automation), Analyze (analytics and business intelligence) and Pay (financial management).

It combines a web and mobile-based Work Order management system with integrated analytics, offering a complete source-to-settle solution. The highly configurable and flexible software excels at initiating and validating work performed, and helps manage all planned and demanded service requests across all locations, categories and trades. The platform provides independent and unbiased data on contractor performance to keep them accountable for the work they have agreed to perform. It helps in cutting operational costs without reducing service levels and ensures compliance.

Overview of ServiceChannel Benefits

Certified as SSAE 16 compliant, which is the most current standard for reporting on controls, the Service Automation Suite allows initiating requests from virtually anywhere and all that a user needs is an internet connection. All progress and status information is available securely to anyone after authentication. The work order status and service requests reports can also be viewed remotely via mobile devices, further adding convenience and mobility.

The business intelligence dashboard allows leveraging actionable data insights with its pre-built reports and gives historical, current and predictive views of operation for better efficiency. Each preventive and scheduled maintenance task can be verified, validated and authorized via NTE (not to extend) levels. It also helps in reducing invoice processing costs and reduces invoice approval time. The current contractor data, including W-9s, licenses, insurance and payment can be streamlined and simplified via software’s Commercial Contractor Private Network.

The software features viewing real-time data across all locations, trades and contractors and allows managing with event-driven alerts and exceptions. It also makes managing proposals easier by quickly sending RFPs to contractors and getting their proposals online. The Asset Management system provides greater visibility into the physical assets regardless of their location. The Commercial Contractor Directory sources and qualifies contractors while ensuring they comply to company policies and helps managing their compliance with ease.

PROS: It keeps the repair and maintenance issues organized so client, business and contractors can meet together in a single format and page, getting information of what is going on every time is something that I like and I find it helpful. It is a great program with lots of options and helpful reports. I like the Notes features too, because I use that every day to make a contact with the vendors and stores, helping to record the information.

CONS: I do not like the Service channel App because it needs to be revised, becoming user-friendly and to access information straightforward. I prefer to skip the app and go directly to the website, because I find it easier.

CONS: I do not like the extensive formatting when I generate the issue lists because if you were not there in the set-up beginning, in most case you are going to get assistance from the Service Channel.

PROS: Service Channel is straightforward to use and I like the interaction with account reps. Although I resolve most of the problems by myself, they are always helpful and available, thanks to Jordan Lewis and Paul Lehman.

CONS: The communication should be improved. There isn’t screen notification for downtime or service problems. A great idea would be to have a page that would allow the users to glance fast and status of work orders. Open/In progress is inactive for X days and although WOs are scheduled for today, it seems that it is closed or the last 5 days.

PROS: If you are first- time user, the setting up correctly is straightforward. PM part, Proposal approval and invoice section work without issues. The system is rarely down so it makes it very functional. Support team is knowledgeable, fast and helpful.

CONS: If you want to edit any enquiry, the form is long with lots of space so you have to scroll through the screen to find the parts to be filled, so I think that they are designed from a person that never used this system, by him/her own wish. The Service Channel is from India and it is difficult to understand them, because of the accents. The e-mail service is slow too.

PROS: For our service and maintenance vendors, the Service Channel streamlined our billing process and we are able to manage our costs and budgets better, to accrue accurately, and the process billings more efficiently too.

CONS: Communication could be better. The requirements needed, file specs etc are not clearly defined, so the rollout of the program is difficult. When we are going through the areas to improve, the process to customize the files are with significant cost. Enhancing the process would be a thing to support, meaning that we would be able to spend more, which results in larger profit margins.
