ShareFile Review

PROS: The product is easy to use and extremely intuitive. You can plug-in for your email and then all your work is done in less time.It secures the attachments immediately without prompting. Also, you can easily send documents in a secure way. The recipients don’t have to use few steps in order to download the files.

CONS: It works perfectly for me, I don’t have dislikes about it.

PROS: Easily send or request sensitive documents or information from customers in a secure format.

CONS: Cost versus competition could be improved

PROS: I like the Outlook plugin feature! I can automatically convert files that are large into ShareFile links. I can request files from others ho do not have cloud storage or ftp site solution. The UI is smooth, clean and intuitive on every device, apps and web browser. We can easily see who has permissions and generate Activity Log to keep track of uploaded and dowloaded files.

CONS: It lacks some minor customization options, the banner and URL could take extra customization such as company logos and other features so the other side can know that the links are real.

PROS: I like that I’m able to send a link for another party to upoad a file. Lot of my co-workers ar eusing this feature because they are not tech savvy when it comes to uploading and sharing files. I feel like the sharing process is securely and safe process. It offers lot of options on how you want to share files.

CONS: The interface looks complex and complicated especially when I want to find where to send and receive files and other tools. It would be helpful if they could provide step by step walk-through when you initially set up the account.

PROS: I like that I can upload huge files and send them directly to others and they can easily download it. As a client I found this tool extremely easy to use because all it requires is a click of a link and download a the file without the need of going through logging into FTP sites. When you upload files you’ll get notifications when the files are being downloaded.

CONS: The integration with Outlook needs some improvements and needs to be upgraded because I have issues when using the Sharefile link provided by Outlook when sending huge file. The Outlook crashes and I have to re-type original mail over again.

PROS: good, secure, reliable cloud system. easy to use. Files stored in the cloud and copy on your computer. When you modify files on your computer, it automatically synchronizes to the cloud

CONS: if you encounter a difficulty, you will experience extreme aggravation in attempting to get help, made worse by the fact that they created the difficulty: 1. you call the general help number 2. they waste your time giving you useless information before permitting you to request technical support 3. customer service comes on the line with no awareness of the ID info they required in the previous step 4. customer service tells you to explain the problem so they can connect you to the right department 5. they connect you to hold 6. no one ever comes onto the line, and you are forced to listen to "soothing" hold music that is only more infuriating as you watch the minutes tick by toward your deadline 7. you give up and repeat from step 1 8. when you complain about the above to customer service, they tell you they have a high call volume-this translates to "we did not hire enough people to address the issues we are creating for our users" 9. they send you an email telling you to expect assistance within 8 hours, which is only 7 hours and 55 minutes too late -note: on the plus side, they do have at least one competent and responsive tech support person -note: they also refer you to their "knowledgebase" which comprises a million different issues and their "solutions" that I cannot possibly sort through to figure out which tech-speak, if any, translates to my issue

PROS: It is a great collaborative tool that helps us to execute our duties with ease. We can share drawings and other documents with our consultants, contractors and clients in general. We can send files larger than 10Mb which was not possible with other similar tools, especially over the email. Also, its integration with Outlook allows us to directly send and receive large files in the form of emails to and from our clients and consultants.

CONS: When it comes to accounting for the cost of the tool in terms of subscriptions, it can be hectic as they only accept payments in USD. This is due to fluctuations of the currency which disadvantages those whose local currency is not the USD. It would be better if they could accept local currencies for ease of forecasts in terms of budgets.

PROS: It has provided a great virtual avenue through which my clients and I can share files without having to meet. My clients can now scan receipts, spreadsheets, bank statements and other tax forms and share or send them to me in real-time. We can even go through file or documents at the same time without being in the same room. The drag and drop feature for the desktop version of the tool makes everything look easy.

CONS: It is not possible to modify a folder using labels. When you try to use different characters for different folders it gives you problems. The desktop version needs to offer options for password protection to prevent unauthorized access to your documents or files. The PrintToShareFile has grave issues in terms of its role.

PROS: It is a great storage tool which is secure and convenient. I can share files with my colleagues and retrieve them with ease whenever i want. It is simple to use and offers a great experience on my part and that of the recipient.

CONS: The tool is great in terms of usage and functionality. I can use it with my finder and get the best experience. However, when I open my PC, the sync version does not perform on its own. It requires me to tap re-sync first so that it can function. This is the only drawback I experienced with the tool.

PROS: It offers many options on how you can use it. The web and app version makes it easy for one to use the tool. It is like using my documents feature on the PC. You can share documents across a secure network and synchronize them with ease. It also integrates well with software applications such as Redtail CRM which is a plus for us.

CONS: It has so much to offer that I find it difficult to spot anything negative about the tool. However, it can improve in some areas. First I should be able to verify that my clients are using the tool in the right way. Also, it should be able to indicate that the storage feature is approved by FINRA.

PROS: It has a great user experience for both of our employees and client. We can send files across state and country border lines to our clients with ease. Apart from that, they can also share files and documents with us for the purpose of processing them. This saves on the cost of making phone calls and sending emails to ask for those files. We can send or share files to specific clients and they can access them at any time.

CONS: A while back, the system was slow when it came to loading the files and documents. However, this has become a thing of the past as the issue has since been addressed. Other than that, I do not find anything negative with ShareFile.

PROS: It offers what most systems of similar kind do not offer. It is compatible with both the PC and mobile gadgets. This means that you can access the files stored or shared on the platform from home, office or on the move on your phone. You can also share the same platform with your clients from outside the workplace. The encryption sharing and sending of files allows you to securely send and receive large files.

CONS: Although the tool offers a secure network, when I am using a public network such in a coffee shop, it can be disturbing. I find it hard to access my files on ShareFile due to the issues of security on a public network.

PROS: ShareFiles offers everything you need starting from control over users and their activities regarding your files, ability to use it on all devices from Pc to desktop app to mobile devices. The system is easy to set up and easy to administarte. I’m able to copy authorization from an user to another and I get immediate notification when the files are downloaded so there is no place for lies and mistakes. In my opinion, this is more advanced solution than any free solution out there. It doesn’t require too much training because it is extremely easy and you can start using it right away.

CONS: They could implement various customizaion per project. There is not much to dislike about this tool.

PROS: I started using this tool for sending one-off files through a link, but our team needed a way to send me video files so I can edit them and send them back. In our experience, creating a shared folder has never been easier, it allows us to create subfolders and to organize files after the uploads. Also, it notifies me when other users have uploaded or downloaded files.

CONS: I don’t like that I have to double-check the expiration dates and I don’t like that those dates are set up by my organization.

PROS: When you compare with other systems that offer the similar service, ShareFile is far much better. It offers no delays when it comes to sharing files with customers and clients. Unlike other tools, you get value for money. You get to save on time and it never goes down or crashes. You get to perform your duties n uninterrupted manner. It is simple to use and offers reliable admin features that allow you to securely send files through email.

CONS: Although the desktop sync tool offers a drag and drop feature for files when you want to move them from one folder to the next, the web version of the tool does not offer this feature. You have to upload the file again and select the folder you want it to go. It thus takes a lot of time as there are no shortcuts. It would be better if this feature was in place.

PROS: It is not only easy to use, but also provides the ultimate file sharing and sending functionality. You can send large files across emails without limit. For emails, they will have a limit above which you cannot send files larger than that. For ShareFile, it provides an attachment, which connects with your email to send large files. The files are also secure since the tool provides security for sensitive files. You can also know in the form of notification when your client opens the file you sent

CONS: On our end, there is no problem at all in the use of the tool. However, our clients have experienced problems in the past when it came to accessing the file we send through ShareFile. It may be because they are not tech savvy. This can be time consuming as I am forced to take them through the entire process of how to access that file.

PROS: I can work as an administrator of the tool and involve my users on the same. The controls are designed for both users and the company. It integrates well with Outlook for PC users which makes sending and receiving of files through the email easy and fast. You can use a link to send and receive files. However, the strength of your bandwidth will determine the size of the files you can send or receive. It gives you notifications when you receive files or when a client has uploaded files.

CONS: Most of our clients prefer to use Dropbox in sharing and sending of files. It is good that Dropbox integrates well with ShareFile. However, it would be great if it did not require a password when using Dropbox in ShareFile. Having to provide a password every now and then can be frustrating.

PROS: I have used ShareFile long ago and I switched to less expensive tool in order to save some money but this was the worst decision I have ever made in my entire career. I came back to ShareFile 3 weeks ago and I’m happy to say that we get our work done in less time with no frustration at all. We can share files with our clients and we don’t have to worry whether the system will crash. The tool is extra intuitive and all its functions are straightforward.

CONS: I’d like to see drag-and-drop feature to move files around when we use the solution on the web. There is drag and drop feature on desktop app or Drive Mapper tool but it is not available on the web so we have to select file and then select move from menu.

PROS: It is mobile supported which makes it easy for me to access my files on the move with the help of my iPhone. The customer support is top-notch. When I have issues on how to use the tool, the team provides instant help through the webcam. It is easy, I can access files at any time even when I am without power and I can share files with the help of a link. The setup is also awesome.

CONS: Although there is not much to point out as being bad with the tool, the settings part can be disappointing, when you want to change them. Also, when you open a document shared by a client, it does not prevent others from editing it at the same time. This can be confusing. It should provide a feature that allows one to edit the document at a time. It would be better I it indicated the date when you uploaded the email and the date of the email.

PROS: The storage eater is awesome. It not only provides unlimited storage space for your files, videos, documents and audios, it has an unlimited bandwidth. You can customize the tool to suit the needs of your business or website. You can include your business branding, change colors and add URLs for your liking. It has a simple way through which you can send and receive files to and from clients. The developers of ShareFile are also on it to upgrade the current features based on the needs of the users, as they have done over the years with upgrading to unlimited storage.

CONS: The programs of the desktop version of the tool are heavy, which can slow the process of saving files. Also, for Mac users, the tool works well but this cannot be said for PC users. Most of my clients are limited by their ISPs on the number of files they can download or upload on a monthly basis, which can be frustrating. However, this is not a problem of ShareFile to deal with.
