VMWare vCenter Server Review

PROS: On top of helping us manage dozens of virtual machines, I also love just how loaded with features vCenter is. It has the capacity to store our data, thus freeing enough space on our external storage units. It also has a reliable scheduling system that helps us keep track of our deadlines.

CONS: I've noticed quite a number of minor issues here. For one, it's rather difficult to learn and fully understand. For its price, I do notice a lot of bugs and glitches that cause a delay in our tasks. Finally, I don't look forward to the day when we'd need to transfer to another solution. I can just imagine how vCenter can make the transition difficult for us.

PROS: I think that the best thing about this program is the team of experts working behind it. They always make sure that the program remains relevant to the users' needs. Plus, if we need anything, they're always ready to help us out.

CONS: I hear that there are some changes in the horizon that would make the version for Windows obsolete. I hope they don't push through with this.

PROS: I like having a central location for all our server notes in ESXi, which in turn, is available to balance computing workloads from DRS and minimize the downtime for the apps because of its ability to restart. I also like the Snapshots function because I can modify VMs and easily revert in case it's not successful.

CONS: It could be a lot more affordable.

PROS: I like being able to do live migration of the VMWare, without having to shut down our systems, as well as being able to simultaneously manage ESXIs without any errors.

CONS: I wish the Flash player isn't blocked with the Chrome browser because to UI for that and HTML5 isn't so smooth.

PROS: I like being able to manage our virtual machines using the VMWare VirtualCenter.

CONS: It could be easier to use for newcomers, but once you've gotten the hang of it, you'll be treated to many features that you didn't know you'd want.

PROS: For one, the accessibility of this program is truly commendable. I can open it on just about any browser. Another reason to love VCenter? It is a convenient way of managing virtual machines within the vSphere.

CONS: There has been one too many changes introduced to this program in the hopes of improving it. However, I think this effort has backfired because we, the users, have to constantly relearn it.

PROS: I love the new web environment--it allows me to oversee operations from all angles.

CONS: You have to be prepared to install flash on your PC for this to run smoothly. Lower end devices can't readily run this program.

PROS: I love how user-friendly this platform is. It makes system management seem like a piece of cake. Thanks to it, I can oversee dozens of devices or machines from one vantage point--and conduct regular maintenance if necessary.

CONS: I haven't noted any issue yet.

PROS: It helps me supervise a robust infrastructure such as VMware. If anyone is looking for a way to manage this program, vCenter is the best option for you.

CONS: I like everything about this program.

PROS: This makes virtual management so much easier. Plus, it's a reliable back-up in case there is VMware's host fails.

CONS: Everything works fine on my end.

PROS: One thing that I love about vCenter is that it allows me to make full use of all of our VMware infrastructure from one platform. Over the years, more and more virtual platforms have been linked to this solution, and now I can confidently manage most of our operations from this single vantage point. Keeping our datafiles secure and accessible to the right users has now been a lot easier too.

CONS: I've only noted one issue with vCenter and they have just recently provided a solution to this. You see, they used to require users to install flash for the program to run in our devices. But now, we can accommodate this even on HTML5. I'm really glad they made this shift possible.

PROS: One major benefit of using VCenter is that I can oversee a large volume of devices without leaving virtual footprints nor slow these devices down. It's not complicated to run too. I can switch from Windows to Linux view without much problem. Thanks to this tool, I can supervise thousands of machines anywhere in the world. It's that impressive.

CONS: It doesn't seem to work as smoothly on Windows than on Linux. This makes the switch quite necessary.

PROS: The web interface is quite impressive. Through it, I can easily manage our operations in various VMware infrastructures. It's a no-nonsense tool that is very easy to use.

CONS: The bad news is that this tool is not cheap. The good news is that you have the option to downgrade to a lower-end plan if you only need the basics.

PROS: VCenter is where I manage all of VMware's programs and systems. I'm really glad that they have developed something such as this. It allows me to oversee anything and everything. I've never worked more efficiently. It has a complete dashboard too that is rife with tools that I can use for my day-to-day tasks. Plus, not only can I make sure that everything is working properly within our system, but I can also process licenses and other admin requirements with just a few clicks of a button.

CONS: To be honest, I find this solution very pricey. It can't run on a low-end computer too. We had to build a more powerful one just so this program can run smoothly.
