What is Work Examiner?

Work Examiner is an employee monitoring solution that helps track online activities and identify productive employees. It offers both recorded and online views through the stealth client that records and reports all user activities. The management gets a clearer and complete view of how employees are using the internet/PC and can block content that affects productivity.

The software also helps track work time, which ultimately results in better management of the human resources. The client software runs quietly in the background without leaving any traces. A client-server installation on employee’s computers can be done in minutes after which the software tracks almost everything from time spent on websites to the applications used. The intuitive Dashboard provides all the insightful information the management needs to understand work patterns, including detailed reports about employee productivity and data thefts.

Overview of Work Examiner Benefits

Work Examiner is a complete suite of features and tools that aim to improve efficiency and productivity by providing complete picture of how the employees are using their time. The software installs throughout the network in just five minutes, allowing admins to start monitoring right away. Powerful web-tracking provides the management with complete view about how employees spend time on the internet. It provides detailed statistics about what users, departments, categories and computers are doing on the internet, while information can also be filtered by days, hours or weeks. In addition to the information about what sites a user visits and time, the software also records the amount of time spent on such websites. The web-tracking includes online searches, file downloads and other common activities.

Software’s web-filtering tools provide administrators with complete control over what users can access over the internet. It works on simple follow-and-deny rules and allows admins to create a web-filtering policy according to their own requirements. Admins have different options to choose from, including blocking all sites except a few, allowing time-restricted surfing sessions and redirecting to custom pages. Automatic notifications alert admins whenever a user attempts to access a prohibited site, while the software also allows blocking websites by HTML keywords.

In addition to web-tracking and filtering, the software also allows tracking local computers and activities. The software can track active/inactive time and considers the time during which there is no movement of the keyboard/mouse as inactive. It also makes it easier for the HR to see who comes on time and spends more time doing work. Since the software works silently in the background, there are no user-visible icons and the software does not show in the add/remove programs or task manager processes.
