Egnyte Review

PROS: It s very functional and useful. It connects with my device easily.

CONS: It needs to improve its filter functionality. Getting filter per column will be a great help, especially when you need a particular file.

PROS: It has a large storage capacity. It is also very easy to install and to share files. The interface is great as you can readily learn how to use it at one glance. Our team appreciates the convenience Egnyte offers the whole team.

CONS: Loading large files can be limited. This can quite troublesome especially if we immediately need files. I hope their team can fix this.

PROS: Egnyte gives easy access to documents. Assigning the access for each document and its organization is very easy too. It is also very reassuring that all our documents are safe.

CONS: The interface needs to be improved. It can be confusing for new users. Other than that, I can't find any other complaints.

PROS: I can upload and search for files easily. Logging in is also not a problem. I can use keywords to search for the files I need. The website also offers a great interface where even a new user can understand how it works.

CONS: Egnyte is amazing! We can access our files anywhere. If there's a con it's their file explorer as it takes some time to look for files there. It is better to use their website for this.

PROS: It gives us the ability to create successful construction development projects. Since it is cloud-based, we can edit the documents in real-time and share it with other members of the team. The drag and drop function is also very useful in organizing documents. It is also very easy to keep track of all the changes being made by all members of the team involved in a particular project.

CONS: We haven't encountered any problem with Egnyte's performance. We love everything about it.

PROS: I love the simplicity of being able to upload and add folders with this platform. Back then, we were using DropBox (which is still a good file storage medium, mind you). But Egnyte is a lot better for professional use. It keeps all company docs in a single place. If a PC crashes for whatever reason, we no longer have to worry about the lost files.

CONS: I feel there's really nothing to hate about the product. From a functionality perspective, it's pretty good at what it does. It has plenty of features and a really solid platform for use.

PROS: As an admin, I find Egnyte's functionality to be helpful and easy. Its Active Directory authentication ensures easy setup and LDAP server integration. Its "upload link" lets external clients/users to upload bigger files or eradicate the process of instructing an inexperienced individual in working an FTP. Our subscription includes having a maximum of 5 data revisions, which allows for correct data recovery (in casee of accidental file changes or deletion). Their file preview is really intuitive.

CONS: At present, we're making use of the platform's hybrid option. That means having a local NAS drive within a datacenter for cloud syncing. They need to make tweaks on the appliance tool since there were problems in saving and opening Microsoft apps. We don't like their Windos Egnyte dirve. We also hate not having the option to switch off user e-mail alerts.

PROS: It does everything extremely well. It's blazing fast. Our office files are now housed within the Egnyte's cloud server and can accessed from our Japan-based office. Reall fast upload and download speeds. We've using this system for several months now and we almost had zero issues with it.

CONS: Nothing much really. The biggest quip I've had with it was its pricing. Egnyte can be costly and isn't as reasonable for a product. Its pricing is entirely based on users as oppossed to accessibility. A typical user who uses the system weekly from a shared computer would already be classified asd a "user" and unfairly charged on the same rate as that of a full-time user.

PROS: I love its sharing capabilities. It basically posssesses the same features seen in Dropbox, Box, and other cloud storage systems. When it comes to sharing files, we love it's capable of sharing to other people with its expiring link and real-time alerts. This is ideal since constantly sharing financial data to potential customers and business sellers. It lets look closely on what and when a file is being shared.

CONS: Its desktop sync tends to get constantly buggy. But it's nothing big enough to warrant a major complaint. All I needed to do was get in and manually restart ever few weeks or so.

PROS: I can easily store information in real-time and give my team members access to the files. Egnyte can also be connected to my desktop. As a result, I can access it without the internet. Tracking changes made on the document is very easy too. I know exactly when a file was edited.

CONS: You have to download the software if it's not linked to the computer drive. It's also a bit tedious to connect the drive to the desktop.

PROS: The advantage it gave us was that it was able to let us set certain permissions within the folder options. There are numerous teams that prefer sharing content with others or those who want to limit file sharing to their own team. The Desktop Sync application is simple enough to configure so folders can be synced (and for employees to have their private folders synced). Shared team folders can be synced so modifications on the latest doc can be made without running into revision problems.

CONS: There are specific parts of the online service that has yet to migrate to the new look. This can lead to difficult navigation.

PROS: The Hybrid Cloud feature tailors our needs really well. Since a bulk of our users are situated in the main headquarters, our satellite offices make it easier for other international usrs to gain access to the same data. Our users can acquire local speeds in accessing bigger data. Our satellite office users can have access to the same data via local folder syncing or choosing their preferred web client (for bigger files). File management is a breeze since it's all a matter of assigning groups to user and handling folder permissions.

CONS: At the moment, I only have one major issue. And that's seen in their latest versions. Egnyte has zero solutions in managing the syncing process. This can pose a big problem when the sync queue is backed behind bigger files. There's no option for pausing, prioritizing, or re-ordering sync management.

PROS: I love its universal search feature. Text-based content as well as file names can be indexed. Results can be yielded at lightning speeds when putting in keywords. Any file can be shared (as long as it's already uploaded in Egnyte) by means of an e-mail link. The link should be secured with a password for the intended person to view the sent content. An expiration period can also be applied based on the number of clicks or scheduled time.

CONS: Its desktop sync app needs some improvement. There's no option in changing the synced folder without going through the re-installation/uninstallation process. Folders can't be specified for syncing. A 4GB file limitation makes it difficult to use the desktop syncing feature.

PROS: It's simple to use Egnyte. This is true when dealing with bigger teams and for people situated within teams. Having the option in limiting teams according to departments/groups is really awesome. I love being able to edit docs over the internet with Egnyte as opposed to downloading and re-uploaading the same file. You can edit and the autosave option will update the document within the folder on its own.

CONS: It might take a bit of time in getting the required updates. But once they were insalled, quality of the product has dramatically increased.
