Kalo Review

PROS: I’m using Kalo as an employee and a contractor. From an employee’s perspective, the searching function is one of the strengths of the platform. I can easily search for tasks I need with ease because this software lets you search by contractor or project. From the perspective of a contractor, I think the perk is the ease of navigating the tool.

CONS: I had some concerns when I’m using the solution as a contractor. It’s a bit hard to look for projects that need immediate attention. But I think I’ve already found the solution to this.

PROS: This solution has eliminated the need for unnecessary documentation, lots of Google sheets, PayPal and a separate tool to work with clients. We are now able to manage our freelancers as well as clients from one platform, making the life of our finance and editorial team way easier than before. We also become more organized since using this tool. Most importantly, our freelancers are happy.

CONS: The reporting options are limited. It would be nice if they would add more.

PROS: I like how easy it is to manage freelancers with the help of this platform. From onboarding new freelancers, storing and accessing important documents or information, to generating invoices and making sure that freelancers are paid on time, it got all tools we need to do those tasks with ease. Also, I love how Kalo team has made sure that our specific needs as an international organization were met. This tool, generally, has changed the way we work with our freelancers.

CONS: There are times when it’s hard to communicate with Kalo team. Some of their responses to our queries were quite far from what we’re actually looking for. Probably they were just too busy and have no time to fully read the messages we’ve sent. But overall, the team is responsive.

PROS: There are many features available but what I like most are the message board function, individual profile, and availability feature. The rating element as well as onboarding module are also great and pretty useful. Lastly, the tool got a nice interface.

CONS: No message notification. So sometimes, my workmates still have to tell me about the message which I find a bit annoying. The review feature as well as project manager also had some problems. The former is always having errors.

PROS: It makes freelance management an easier job to do. Among the things I like best, which I think are also the advantages of using this solution, is the ease of organizing the list of freelancers and the ongoing projects that they are working on.

CONS: Nothing so far. But I save everything in this software and I'm afraid it would be a problem in the future (hopefully not)

PROS: I am able to assign tasks to our freelancers quickly with ease, know when a task has been completed, and seamlessly receive and send files. Kalo is a great tool that makes working with freelancers easier and more organized.

CONS: It would be great if they add more automation abilities and project management features such as templates for sending the same type of project to the same freelancer so I don’t have to do everything manually.

PROS: It got everything we need to manage our freelancers and projects from start to finish. The onboarding module has made it easier to onboard new freelancers. It lets us present documents that contain important information like terms and condition to the new members of the team so they can also review them. Also, we use the tool to have them sign contracts. We store all information about our freelancers in this platform including payments. It's easy, convenient, and fast. It is also helping us with out year-end tax documents. It takes care of communicating with our freelancers for the needed forms, etc. so we don't have to spend time and effort doing those things.

CONS: The wallet is not as flexible as we need it to be. It pays freelancers at particular intervals so we cannot release payouts whenever we want to. The wallet also needs to be frequently funded which is a strain on our finance team. These problems often cause payment delays.

PROS: The system is intuitive and generally easy to use. I don’t use the system on a daily basis, just a couple of times a year, but always able the tools and functionalities I need to do what I have to do with ease.

CONS: I wish there were better notes available in the help section that I can use whenever I try to reorient myself with the software.

PROS: It has helped improve my workflow. Creating and assigning tasks as well as setting a deadline have been easier than ever. Definitely love this solution.

CONS: I had some minor problems with the invoicing. Sometimes, the option to submit an invoice after approving an assignment does not come up. Also, the software only let me create invoice for each task. I would love an option to create a single invoice per person every month end.

PROS: It has everything we need to manage our freelancers and clients. Specifically, I like its onboarding module. We are able to present all the information and important documents to our new freelancers with ease. I also like to ability to store and access all data including financial information in one location. It’s pretty convenient.

CONS: There are occasional system glitches. But whenever a problem arises, their customer support team is always within reach and fixes the issue as fast as they can (depends on the severity of the issue). I like how attentive the team is to our concerns.

PROS: Assigning tasks to my freelance writers has been easier and more organized. My work has become easier this month and hopefully the improvement continues to the upcoming months with the help of this software. Also, this tool is helping me stay within my budget.

CONS: I don't think there are cons of using this platform.

PROS: The Kalo team was amazing! They are very supportive, willing to help, and ensure that our business needs are met. The platform itself is also incredible. It automates some of our processes, helps us become more efficient and transparent, and effectively oversee the projects that our freelancers are working on.

CONS: The software is a bit lacking. Our freelancers who tried to use this told us that the solution does not have enough features to help them sell themselves. Also, the solution is U.S oriented. There are many limitations. Hopefully, they make adjustments and make the solution better so it could adapt to the needs of the ever changing and complicated freelance world.

PROS: I am an entry-level employee and Kalo’s the first software I got to work with. I find it very easy to use. It got a really user-friendly interface. Overall, it’s a great tool for first time employees and for learning invoicing.

CONS: I can’t think of any cons of using this software. I love everything about it.

PROS: A steep learning curve is one of the common concerns when purchasing a new system. With Kalo, however, this isn't a problem. The solution is straightforward and simple. I'm able to find my way around with ease. Now I'm using it to manage contractors and it's pretty awesome and effective.

CONS: To be honest, I haven't encountered any major issue that could be a downside of using this solution.
