Kibana Review

PROS: Been using Kibana with Elastic, and I find it very useful to make crucial decisions and do what’s best for the company. I like that I can view all the data that I need before implementing any significant changes in our operations. It is also instrumental in building external reports that are worth sharing with the public. With Kibana, you are assured that your data is highly accurate, and you also have the necessary support to help you get over certain challenges.

CONS: I cannot say that using Kibana is very easy because I had some setbacks while learning the program by myself. Creating graphs, adding links, or making comparisons can be quite complex to understand. But I still suggest that you should take time to discover what Kibana can do for your business, and you’ll realize its maximum potential.

PROS: It's a very straightforward app to use for all of our reporting needs. The plugins are very convenient to work with, and it gives me great results on my pie charts and historical graphs. Learning how to use Kibana gives me a sense of fulfillment because I continue to learn something new each week.

CONS: It is not advisable to run multiple queries because the system could not take the load, and it would cause it to crash. Also, the query needs to be very specific because it would be hard for you to find answers when there no heads upcoming from the system.

PROS: At first, I had zero knowledge in report building and its advantages within the business. But I decided to give the app a try and learned more about creating meaningful visual reports using my available resources. I realized that I can now make my customized reports without asking someone to collect data on my behalf.

CONS: You have to be conscious of the number of searches that you should be requesting from Kibana. Too much of it can overwhelm the system causing it to shut down and restart. Some features are not readily available, but you have the option to add it yourself.

PROS: Very useful indeed for the company. It allows us to customize our data and to present it the way we want it to be. Also, the system works smoothly, so I only take a few minutes to create a visual report of yesterday’s performance.

CONS: There are restrictions in using some codes into the program. But the good thing is that you can add formulas manually into the system if you want to customize your data according to what you need to see. It would be best if you worked harder to be genuinely familiar with the dashboards.

PROS: Kibana has found a way to monitor all our server logs and without any issues at all. It is fast, efficient, trustworthy, and recommended for long time use.

CONS: We needed a way to enhance our security measures by adding notifications that can be seen by all users. However, the process is quite cumbersome, so we needed to refer back to the online forums and some IT experts for some help.

PROS: Functionality between machine learning, maps, and search is very powerful.

CONS: The elastic search is not so intuitive. Getting started had a steep learning curve.

PROS: Very helpful in viewing user logs and activities. We can quickly determine what went wrong and provide instant solutions to our employees. It has a pretty good layout, so the reports are easy to interpret.

CONS: It’s kind of difficult to run a complete search of complex data and logs. It would help if you were very specific with your search. Adding filters would make things easier for everyone instead of spending too much time looking for the things you need.

PROS: Kibana is not as complicated as I thought it would be. I had a few hours of online tutorial, and I was able to understand how it works.

CONS: It can be quite challenging to consolidate data, especially if it comes from multiple sources. You might need to hire someone who has experience working with Kibana to take responsibility for your internal data.

PROS: I love how you can generate various types of graphical representations for different data sets. Even with limited skills, I am able to do this by tweaking some x and y axes attributes coupled with some math functions in order to make charts.

CONS: I think there are some limitations when it comes to the match function. Also, graphs can't be customized too much after getting created. You can't change the values to different preferred formats. Furthermore, the samples available for graphs are also very limited. I would like for them to add more in the future.

PROS: Kibana helps me out in my job as an analyst. It makes visualizing data easier. I love how it allows for some customization.

CONS: If you want to use Kibana really well, you would really need to know how to code. You have to learn its language to make it behave the way you need it for your goals. The learning curve is really steep.

PROS: Overall, it is a great app. The UI is wonderful and I can't wait for what it will evolve to in the future.

CONS: It is not really that intuitive especially with the unpacking of the tar files. Also, the setup is very hard at the start.

PROS: Kibana allows me to visualize collected data in many different ways. The variations seem endless!

CONS: I have experienced glitches some times but they don't come very often. The benefits of using Kibana sure outweighs this con.
