PROS: Even when utilizing numerous media tracking and database software, Meltware, so far, provides the most pleasant experience. One thing that stood out is it user interface. It's highly intuitive and crispy clean. Colors seem serene and chart formatting is so sensible. I like how the platform continuously evolves.

CONS: With all its benefits, Meltwater runs a little slow. It takes a bit of time for pages to load up. There have been scenarios where the program would go on a glitch without getting the newsletter or search saved. Adding content into newsletters appear to be quite clunky. The content section wouldn't load when adding or removing searches.

PROS: The interface is easy to use and easy to learn. There were no issues rolling this out to multiple users in our firm for basic searches and tracking media mentions of the firm and our projects.

CONS: Overall when compared to using simple Google alerts for topics and media related to my firm, Meltwater was outperformed by the free service. When we let Meltwater know that we were interested in cancelled because of this, they deceptively asked that we wait to cancel implying our renewal date was several months away. In fact in was much closer and we missed the deadline to renew. However, it wasn't published anyway easy to access but buried in a page on the internet, reachable by a link deep in our contract in fine print. We missed the official cancellation date because we were issued a final invoice the day after that deadline - when I refuted the invoice explaining it should have been clear we were cancelling the response was that we hadn't stated that clearly in writing. Another detail not shared with us when we called and emailed several times to complain about the service, and express out intent to cancel. After weeks of "negotiation" we were threatened with legal action if we didn't compromise and spend an additional $2000 (as opposed to the $8000 they wanted us to pay) to extend our contract partially through the end of the year.

PROS: Their products are nothing but easy! They're constantly adding functionality to their offering. That's a good thing as that would lead to enhanced results. I like their social channel monitoring and executive alerts. I'm seeing plenty more going in our industry befor taking a chance with Meltwater.

CONS: It's a bit high in terms of pricing. At times, I feel a bit rushed taking advantage ofthe product's newo offerings. It'd be nice to see products bundled together at a reasonable pricing.

PROS: I love how we're able to get high quality attention and concentration from our account executive. Even if we're running a small-scale business compared to the other accounts she has. It's awesome to know I can reach someone at any point in time. That way she can work quickly in resolving our issues.

CONS: This really isn't something that Meltwater has made wrongly. But the needs of our company have move moved. It would've been nice if one of our legacy contracts is paired with the listening platform. And then only thing we're paying would be what we're utilizing at present (Sprout Social Engage tool). The SSET is precisely what's needed since we don't have much media placements.

PROS: I can't get enough of its customer support! The Meltwater team that my rep worked with are experts. They've been a big help to us. They usehred in awesome ideas that are useful. They imparted the things they saw that worked in other clients while ensuring other clients remain anonymous. It's been nothing but a great experience professionwise!

CONS: It's a manual approach when it comes to filtering search clutter. Even with the existing Boolean query builder, it's still clunky. If you're already experienced in building Boolean queries, it's not as bad as you'd think. But if you're a newbie, it can make life a little difficult.

PROS: Client service has been excellent. They're capbable of troubleshooting just about any issue coming their way. Responsiveness has never been short of outstanding. They're always willing to resolve problems regardless. The account rep that was assigned to my organization is a true expert of the platform.

CONS: I've been utilizing the system for some time now. So expect me to continue learning on how fully utilize the available options. One thing that I find quirky is its formatting program. It's hard trying to get texts modified. Through a Word doc, texts can be modified.

PROS: Each Meltwater aspect has been tremendous. And it came with some worthy standouts. Initially, I like how simple it can be to explore via both search functionality and influencer database. I'm happy with the quickness of its result loading time. Our older PR platforms took a long while to load.

CONS: After playing around with Meltwater for a few months, I'm proud to say that there are zero things that I dislike with it. The only complaint I got is that certain outlets being pitched by me were lacking in Meltwater's system. My rep is there working with me to migrate such outlets directly to the system. He's definitely been a big help. I was hoping Meltwater would taking in editorial calendars in their system.

PROS: The tracking software is awesome once it's completely setup. I love acquiring daily and extensive reporting on my very own keywords. We've recently included the influencer database. I feel that would help improve our social channel outreach for pitcing in stories and making an evaluation on market opportunities. I'm thrilled with the CRM element included witin the influencer database.

CONS: Some elements of its UI are a bit clunky. Its new monitor dashboard takes some time to get used to. But give it time, I'll eventually fall for it. I'd like to sort out news stories. I hate the fact that once I've selected an influencer, I can't include them to another segmented list without having to not follow them and re-include them to multiple lists one time.

PROS: Better than Google Alerts, but not by much. Honestly it's overpriced and not worth it.

CONS: Meltwater is a deceptive company: 1. They don't tell you this, but there is a 60 day cancellation policy, buried in their terms of use, which - by the way - is not included in the contract you sign. The terms of use are linked to, within the contract, but not attached to the contract. 2. The terms of use require you to email / write them 60 days prior to the end of your subscription term if you wish to cancel. After 60 days they lock you in for another entire year of overpriced 'service'. 3. They send an automated email a week after the 60 day renewal period has begun, "reminding" you that you will be using their service for another year, whether you like it or not. If they were an above-board company, they would send you an auto reminder email a week before they lock you in, letting you know that you are nearing your 60 day window. The fact that this 60 day policy is buried within the terms of use, not present in the contract, and not communicated by the sales people is evidence that Meltwater is an extremely shady company. Stay away from them.
