What is Menumiz?

Menumiz is a restaurant management app that harnesses the power of mobile to speed up restaurant services from taking orders, sending kitchen instructions to accepting payments, and more. This helps restaurants to operate at an optimal level, deliver quality service to their diners, and get paid effortlessly. Currently, the supported countries are Australia, New Zealand, Malaysia, and Singapore.

Menumiz offers features like managing table-side orders, inventory, payment and billing, discount coupons, floor management, and other traditional POS/EPOS functions. This app, however, sets itself apart with its modern features like creating your own digital menu that customers can access from their smartphones. Customers can also order directly from their mobile devices using the digital menu. This can be done by printing out a QR code and placing them at every table. Customers just have to download the Menumiz app, register, and then scan the QR code. Once scanned successfully, they will be able to access a web-based portal that displays available food items, services, and more.

The customer-facing app offers easy payment options, such as the traditional pay-at-the-cashier and the more convenient pay-by-app option. Pay-by-app, however, is not always available and depends on the restaurant’s payment policy. Restaurants that offer pay-by-app option, however, allow their customers to pay directly through the app.

Unlike other similar applications, Menumiz provides restaurants with their customers’ profile information and dining history. This unique feature gives restaurants necessary information to tailor marketing campaigns among Menumiz app users, especially those who have been their customers. Customers are also encouraged to rate and leave comments or feedback on the dishes they have tried, which gives restaurants an insight into their customer’s experience and how they can improve their menu and services.

Restaurants can also set up Menumiz-supported kiosks and other mounted devices to encourage self-service and provide a faster and more seamless overall dining experience for their guests.

Menumiz comes with a myriad of features one would expect from a comprehensive restaurant management platform. Improved Floor Layout

Menumize has improved its floor layout design for restaurants. It optimizes the process where you can easily upload a layout (drawing, AutoCAD, or photo, among others) and adjust it according to your preferences. You can then add numbers to the tables. This way, you can have an identical layout to your actual floor design complete with details which make managing your tables more efficient.

Versatile Customer-Facing App

With Menumiz, you can provide your regular patrons and casual diners alike with a modern and more convenient dining experience via a mobile app they can download. Through the Menumiz mobile app, they can see all the food and services being offered by the restaurant and the prices.

They can order and pay through the app, which contributes greatly to the seamlessness of their dining experience. Once they submit their order, the kitchen staff gets the information in real-time. This speeds up the whole order-to-kitchen-to-table process and eliminates instances of errors or misunderstanding that usually happen when manually conveying the customer’s order to the kitchen staff.

Menumiz equips you with a digital menu creator that is quick and intuitive. You can create professional looking menus in minutes. Aside from the usual tempting images of food items and beverages, Menumiz lets you take it up a notch by incorporating short silent videos to your menus. Play to your diners’ gastronomical cravings and tempt them with mouthwatering videos and see your sales go up in an instant.

You can also make your menu more informative by including ingredients, nutrition facts (calories, etc.), allergen warnings, and how much time is needed for a dish to be served.

Secure Payment and Billing

Menumiz holds a PCI certificate. With PCI compliance, you can accept credit card payments securely. Customers can also rest assured in adding their credit card to your Menumiz mobile app to make direct payments. Bills are sent to customers through email and in the app order history for easy retrieval and access. An option to add tip is also available and will show before completing the payment.

PROS: There is no need for a waiter to bring a physical menu and there is no need for the customer to pay over the counter (for restaurants that have the Pay By App plan) as your food can be ordered and paid for all via online.

PROS: The application enables restaurant owners to design as many digital menus as they wish , the costumer is able to access active menus by scanning a QR code and posting comments for the restaurant, the best point is that the costumer doesn't need to stay in line even for a second.

CONS: As I am a new user of this application, I have not face any problem until now. Everything is running as it should.

PROS: This system delivers what exactly it claims...digital menu and self service order and bill management. We had used a QR order last year which sucked, it was just an amateur software with no integration...but Menumiz is a fully end to end system and even if you don't use the self-service part, yet it is very powerful POS . We have better management now , more clear picture of what's going on in the restaurant and also I like the customer history part...this is the only POS that you can see the customers name and order log...I recommend Menumiz 100%.

CONS: The only problem is the internet speed...some customers use a data plan from a company which has not good reception in our place ...also, installing the app is a problem particularly when your customers are old people whom even don't know the password of their Apple Store!! we take table-side orders in this cases...however, our restaurant is near a college and hence most of our customers are app fans.

PROS: A month ago I got an email from Menumiz claiming " Cut the wages " and I just ignored it. a few days later I went to CBD to buy some stuff and had got tired of walking...then I get a cafe to have a short black...I entered and I saw the Menumiz QR code on the tables! I recognised the logo and I remembered the email... I installed the app and scanned the QR...wow...such a beautiful menu for that small cafe!! it was amazing , I ordered the cafe and had a chat with the guy ... he said this is only two weeks we are on Menumiz free plan... and it has changed every thing. I asked if I could talk to his boss...he told his boss is on the way ... finally I met the cafe owner and he explained his story of saving about $1800 just by using Menumiz is two weeks! and wonderful features it offers even to a small cafe for free... I registered for Menumiz the same night and this is three weeks we are on Menumiz plus plan and it is fantastic...the features it gives you all under one app and one account and one subscription is too good to be true!! but it is true...Menumiz is Australian company and really a proud for Australia offering a service much better then those US companies... just to mention that for the previous POS we had to pay $5K for hardwares, server... .... for Menumiz we just used personal mobiles and a PC.

CONS: Menumiz is slow when you start using it, but it gets normal after a while...according to their support in needs catching in the network...also, asking customers to install the app is tricky...some wont and we have to get the order verbally

Hi, Thank you for your review and comments about Menumiz. We understand that most of the time you have to ask your customer to install the app in order to use a self-service and payment option and it might be a hassle for you, but you should consider that Menumiz has launched 10 Jan 2019 and this is a bout 47 days the system is live and hence, we do not have a huge installs and app users yet. We run app install campaigns locally wherever we have a restaurant implementing our system to compensate for the problem and this is the only thing we can do now. But there is a suggestion which can solve your problem ( we usually share it directly with restaurants and cafes , not sure if you have been told before ) and that is a 5% discount on service charge as an incentive. we believe that your customer needs a reason to use self service order and payment beside all incentives we offer to them, but at the end of the day , this is the restaurant saving on wages by using less waitstaff, and hence it makes sense to charge less for service should it be a self service order. However, this is your choice and policy to offer such. ( it works when you charge 10% if it is a table -side order and 5% if a self-service) Regards Andrew Menumiz Team

PROS: We have terminated 6 waiters since switching to menumiz! the problem was not only the salaries , but the visa handling for them...each waiter was a nightmare to handle work permit. This system cuts the jobs! however, Andrew from Australia was with us by whaatsapp from the demo request...he helped us to learn how it works.

CONS: it is cloud-based pos and some pages are slow ... we are used to fast response on previous POS , it is a bit weird to wait when tapping the screen...another problem is asking customers to install the app ...some don't and we have to take table side orders...lucky menumiz has it.
