Microsoft Word Review

PROS: Microsoft Word is a great writing tool to use especially when you need to make lengthy write-ups. There’s no limit to the number of pages you can use which mean you can write to your heart’s content. It’s also accessible offline which is really great. Also, the application offers a number of writing tools and features like numerous font options, the ability to add tables and even pictures to documents, and so much more. I can modify the document as I see fit. I can make it look professional or creative. But what’s incredible is the ability to edit the documents even after saving it so there’s no need to worry about committing errors in the process. And in case your computer accidentally turns off because of an unexpected power outage while you’re still writing, you can still recover your work easily.

CONS: The toolbar contains too many functionalities that are quite overwhelming than helpful. I mean, not every tool available is essential in writing. And if you want to update to newer versions, you should save some bucks because it can be quite costly. You will also need professional help. The software’s security is not that robust, making it prone to virus attacks.

PROS: I've been using WordPerfect years ago. Back then I was a legal secretary. I never gave a damn about Word. But the product significantly improved over the years and I can now say I recommend it to anyone who wants to create document.

CONS: Putting in page numbers can be a tedious job. Paragraph numbering would be a bonus addition.

PROS: This tool is just packed with features that make text and document creation a lot easier. With the templates that it offers—ranging from memos, newsletters, reports, letters, etc.—coming up with a professional-looking document is now within arms reach thanks to this software. It really is everyone’s best friend when it comes to coming up with every type of document.

CONS: This is one of the tools that I am utterly dependent on. I use this all the time, and even then I have no complaints about it. It’s just the best!

PROS: This program is a great thing to have. I have a hard time finding a good place to start. Just about everything about it is simple. Editing can be done with ease.

CONS: The latest Word version would end up automatically picking a font style/size and double spacing. If you dislike how it looks or functions, you could make the necessary changes. But don't "delete" too many times or jump around within the page frequently. Otherwise, it'll force itself to go back to its default setting.

PROS: What I like best about this program is its ease of use. No need for elaborate knowledge to be able to start creating documents. It also supports various operating systems so you can install it if you are using Windows, some of Linux versions, etc. It’s flexible and I can change formats, insert graphics, tables and even hyperlinks, modify the styles, and review and edit the documents before printing them.

CONS: There’s no way to insert alternative text descriptions, the image files have generic names, and there is no technical support.

PROS: Admittedly, I forget to save my documents as I go along with my work. With other processors, this would be a problem in case a power interruption occurs. But with Microsoft Word’s autosave feature, I have nothing to be afraid of. The documents are very customizable as well. You can change the text properties, add links, and the like. I also love that one can access this on both desktop and mobile. I appreciate the accessibility that this provides.

CONS: In my opinion, the standard design (the one with background images) can be a little too busy for my liking. I’d like to be able to set the background myself. But other than this personal preference, I don’t have anything bad to say about this tool.

PROS: Highly flexible. Being a consultant, I collaborate with a number of businesses. MS Word is that standard product with virtually no compataibility problems. It helped me (and the people I constantly collaborate with) to run things in a fluid manner.

CONS: Nothing major. Although the one that could use some improvements is its file size optimization. I'd have to handle intricate docs filled with images and other things. Their size can be problematic at times.

PROS: Whether you want to work with a template or build your text document from scratch, you can do all this and more with Microsoft Word. If you choose the former, you’d have a plethora of options that you can tweak and adjust to your liking. It’s very customizable and you can adjust your document’s setting any way that you’d like. Microsoft is quick to call you out on faulty sentence constructions and wrong spellings too.

CONS: I find it a little hard to set up some elements in my documents such as page numbers and graphics. Adjusting the margins and the borders can be quite a hassle too. It takes some time for one to fully grasp these commands.

PROS: Microsoft was my personal preference for making documents going way back. What's so cool about it is that it consistently pushes advanced functionality. As a result, it's able to keep pace with the latest trends and requirements. Aside from that, they continue to add improved compatibility with other third part programs and applications.

CONS: There's not a whole lot that I hate with Microsoft Word. I'm always thinking its eyedropper color tool would be useful as a functionality. The tool gives you the option to choose a color found anywhere on the document and make a duplicate of it without diving into color coding. What I don't like is that Word has a tendency to freeze up (requries restart) or seeminly reboots itself when working in the middle of a document.

PROS: Fantastic for daily templates and documents. It does a great job in making simple reports, certificates, and newsletters. Even better in adding footnotes and bookmarks. Fantastic for use and effective in terms of cost.

CONS: A bit of challenge in setting page bookmarks and margins from time to time. Setting document pages can be annoying. If you try a different way of setting the first page or odd-even pages, it may not end up working as expected. I hate their page borders.

PROS: Microsoft Word has been lingering around for a long while now. It gets better in each of its upgrade. It's great for just about anything. You can include pie charts, images, paragraphs, and just about anything.

CONS: It's Microsoft. So whenever there are upgrades/changes, it can take some time to adjust. However, it makes up for it with its ease of use. Word happens to be the easiest product in the Microsoft family.

PROS: Robust styling can be deployed into a wide range page layouts and designs. This makes for expandable creativity. Its file/cloud sharing features makes room for streamline work deployment for a number of platforms. Third-party plug-in support.

CONS: Word could really use some enhanced cross-compatibility with other types of files. It would benefit greatly if it was carried out across other Word-processing mediums, OSs, and office apps. Support for web-based and OSX is a bit slow. This would greatly hold back the ability in work scenarios that entail more than one operating system.

PROS: A fantastic program where you can learn in your school days. A lot of cool program features. Shortcuts, pie charts, and other features seen in the program can be utilized its maximum capacity. Just about everything is embedded in Microsoft Word.

CONS: There's basically nothing I hate with Micrsoft Word. One thing that makes it a bit challenging is that whenever a program runs an update things would shift. This would result to a bit of a learning curve. Thing is, other products in the market who face such changes face the same thing for its users.

PROS: UI is simple yet great for everyone. You can put any document you need together with it. If you want, you can do complex things with it. In addition, being able to review and make comments on other people's work via its "tracking changes" functionality is one of the best things with Microsoft Word.

CONS: At times, the formatting would automatically change or won't function as expected. It can be hard to determine how to properly get it working.
