What is Sage 50cloud?

Sage 50cloud is an online accounting solution for small and medium-sized businesses that offers features such as taxes, inventory, budgeting, cash flow, and invoicing. Plus, you get a wide range of add-ons for credit card processing, payroll, and more. Organizations can utilize the app’s built-in accounting best practices to stay compliant and to track their finances. You can make payments on-the-go and bill customers, and provide your accountants real-time access to accounting books.

What’s unique about the platform is that it is basically a hybrid–a desktop app that has a cloud component for data access and storage. The software can be used to track purchases and vendors and pay bills. It likewise has expense management features that include mobile payment and bank feeds. The product is capable of connecting to your bank accounts, allowing for real time recording of sales and receipts, track receivables, transfer funds, reconcile bank accounts and make deposits. You are also given access to financial reports from any online device.

What sets Sage 50cloud apart from its sister app Sage Business Cloud Accounting is that the former is an add-on service that allows for the integration of the latter to the cloud. Businesses can store and share databases on the cloud and do the same with credit card numbers, both done securely. It has add-ons that include EFT, payroll, automatic tax computation and e-filing. Users can also accept secure and compliant payments anytime, anywhere once the app is merged with Sage Payment Solutions. Supplier and other payments may also be scheduled if needed.

Sage 50cloud’s inventory and stock management add-on lets users automatically update stock levels and use audits and stock valuations to manage assets. You can work anywhere using Microsoft tools as it integrates seamlessly with MS Office 365. And because the platform is cloud-based accounting data is synced between desktops and the app’s cloud servers, making them accessible at all times. All data are also backed up so you need not worry about losing information.

PROS: There are screens that are subdivided into sections. This makes everything simple to understand. The software comes with menus and icons so it's great for both beginners and advanced users. In my opinion, I love using the menus since it has that retro feel. On the other hand, my colleagues are crazy about their icons.

CONS: Creation of backups are only possible if you happen to be locked out of the software. This is a terrible idea since with 20 or so users, they have a tendency to log out during evenings. They need to badly improve on their backup systems. The Fixed assets require having their own separate backups too. Reaching out to support is far costly. What's worse, the waiting time is insane!

CONS: Ordered the product online. The company sent me an order confirmation email but did not include any serial number or activation codes. Called the customer support line - recorded message said they were too busy but directed me to online chat. Connected with the online chat - they told me to call customer service. Round and around. Finally was able to speak to someone who said that the online order somehow had not been released and they would need to refer to someone in another department who should eventually release the codes. I have been buying software online for over ten years and never seen such a bollocks .

PROS: Their screens are a lot simpler to comprehend. Their support does a great job explaining the setup process and where things should go. Conversion from Quickbooks is automated. It's close to being perfect but we had to make some adjustments to get it to work.

CONS: User and password management can only be made within the platform. There's no option to have them emailed to users. Their tech support is picky answering your accounting inquiries. Enrolling and making payment on their payroll services are cost. But then again, it's worth paying for since you know it's done correctly.

PROS: I like how all information are connected to different aspects of the program. That means whenever I update data in a certain area, it'll link to the next area right and vice versa.

CONS: Whenever time tickets are entered, there's no option to include the time without putting in a colon. It also won't correct itself right away. You'll need to add it precisely how it's supposed to. If not, it'll revert back to zero then see yourself doing it all over again. Other payroll platforms are a lot simpler to handle than this one.

PROS: What's great with Sage 50c is the number of things it lets you do. It lets you come up with sales quotes and coverting those quotes into sales orders. It lets you make an invoice after completion of each sale. It's fantastic for tracking varying projects and sales. Sage 50c can pull out different reports on open and overdue receivables.

CONS: There's nothing much to dislike with this software. It's been an asset to our company ever since we had it running.

PROS: This version improved by leaps and bounds compared to older versions. Processing and run times are way faster now. There are plenty of features that are easy to utilize. For instance, its order copy is useful in placing order for any repeat item. Quote conversion to orders has also been proven to be useful.

CONS: It's a bit challenging to get this software integrated with third party business systems. While conversion of quotes to orders is a good thing, it also has its downside: it retains the date of the order as that of the original quote date. It doesn't make any absolute sense as to why that came to be the case.

PROS: It's very easy to use. You have full control of reporting, inventory, receivables, and payables. You're able to monitor and control inventory as well as have comprehensive inventory reports. You also have checking account control bundled with reconciliation and reporting. Invoicing is available. You get to customize both invoices and layout.

CONS: With sales/invoicing, you have no option to seek out a customer in terms of fields (ex. city, state, zip code, and etc...). You can't pay multiple vendors at the same time. For instance, we're making use of credit card payment for our vendors. Instead of writing out a check for every vendor, I want to be given the option to pick which vendor I would want to pay to.

PROS: This software has tech support that you can count on. I find their help documentation to be useful that I ended up not contacting their support as much. It adapts to any business structure since they have different options in setting up a company if one has no intention to start from the beginning. Thir modules are updated so it's simpler to set up company accounts regardless if it's general or specific.

CONS: The payroll module contains numerous accounts. But they expanded on it a few years back so now it's more improved compared to before. Sage is frequently deploying improvements every years. They conduct yearly meetings so users are invited to listen and let their opinions be heard. That way, changes can be made to ensure a better experience for users.

PROS: It's simple to operate. It combines functionality seen in traditional acocunting while operating on a Windows-like UI. The interface contains useful features that includes a help section, wizards, and countless others.

CONS: The software is made on a flaky Pervasive SQL database. Its tolerance for any network latency or network drop is very low. This can push the platform to abruptly shut down on its own. Corruption or loss of data isn't the issue here. I've never experience data loss after using this for more than a decade.

PROS: I love its reports. I like the fact that it can easily be integrated into platforms such as Outlook and Excel. We're using the software on a daily basis. I love the look of dashboard. I can toggle in and out of modules with ease.

CONS: Certain reports have been modified to cater to your personal preferences. There have been instances where I couldn't make any modifications for a specific form. It requires everything to be done completely. That's a big downer for me. I hope they find a solution for this.

PROS: Their screens are a lot simpler to comprehend. Their support does a great job explaining the setup process and where things should go. Conversion from Quickbooks is automated. It's close to being perfect but we had to make some adjustments to get it to work.

CONS: User and password management can only be made within the platform. There's no option to have them emailed to users. Their tech support is picky answering your accounting inquiries. Enrolling and making payment on their payroll services are cost. But then again, it's worth paying for since you know it's done correctly.

PROS: I love their data storage and functionality. The multi-user feature is a standout since it lets people log in to use the software. At the same time, it doesn't bombard users with interruptions. So I think this is the worthy upside using a convenient platform like this.

CONS: I happen to find the Peachtree software to run a bit slow especially with the addition of Sage. It has a tendency to crash once or so weekly. This makes it a bit hard to get work done.

PROS: This software has tech support that you can count on. I find their help documentation to be useful that I ended up not contacting their support as much. It adapts to any business structure since they have different options in setting up a company if one has no intention to start from the beginning. Thir modules are updated so it's simpler to set up company accounts regardless if it's general or specific.

CONS: The payroll module contains numerous accounts. But they expanded on it a few years back so now it's more improved compared to before. Sage is frequently deploying improvements every years. They conduct yearly meetings so users are invited to listen and let their opinions be heard. That way, changes can be made to ensure a better experience for users.

PROS: I love its reports. I like the fact that it can easily be integrated into platforms such as Outlook and Excel. We're using the software on a daily basis. I love the look of dashboard. I can toggle in and out of modules with ease.

CONS: Certain reports have been modified to cater to your personal preferences. There have been instances where I couldn't make any modifications for a specific form. It requires everything to be done completely. That's a big downer for me. I hope they find a solution for this.

PROS: There are screens that are subdivided into sections. This makes everything simple to understand. The software comes with menus and icons so it's great for both beginners and advanced users. In my opinion, I love using the menus since it has that retro feel. On the other hand, my colleagues are crazy about their icons.

CONS: Creation of backups are only possible if you happen to be locked out of the software. This is a terrible idea since with 20 or so users, they have a tendency to log out during evenings. They need to badly improve on their backup systems. The Fixed assets require having their own separate backups too. Reaching out to support is far costly. What's worse, the waiting time is insane!

PROS: What's great with Sage 50c is the number of things it lets you do. It lets you come up with sales quotes and coverting those quotes into sales orders. It lets you make an invoice after completion of each sale. It's fantastic for tracking varying projects and sales. Sage 50c can pull out different reports on open and overdue receivables.

CONS: There's nothing much to dislike with this software. It's been an asset to our company ever since we had it running.

PROS: It's simple to operate. It combines functionality seen in traditional acocunting while operating on a Windows-like UI. The interface contains useful features that includes a help section, wizards, and countless others.

CONS: The software is made on a flaky Pervasive SQL database. Its tolerance for any network latency or network drop is very low. This can push the platform to abruptly shut down on its own. Corruption or loss of data isn't the issue here. I've never experience data loss after using this for more than a decade.
