ActiveCollab is an integrated project management and collaboration tool that combines task management, time tracking, and billing into one easy-to-use and well-designed app. It is highly configurable and rich in planning and organizational tools that streamline or automate your processes up to getting paid, for instance, by linking time records with invoicing and a payment gateway right within the system for more accurate billing.

The solution helps you organize your projects, tasks and files in one place, so your teams are on the same page right off the bat. You can choose from task lists, kanban board and timeline view with task dependencies and automatic rescheduling, recurring tasks and batch editing, among others, to map your goals and milestones.

PROS: I love the interface, and the updated version ActiveCollab 5, there is a huge improvement over AC4. The platform is similar with Basecamp, but Active Collab has more features than Basecamp, such as: invoicing, estimates and modules that help you to expand your collaboration with Slack.

CONS: I don’t like the setup. Also, the system has many issues with customization, you cannot customize colors without redoing the portions of the system. Additionally, I have some issues with email systems with AC5.

PROS: We have more integrated collaboration with ActiveCollab. It's way easier now for our remote teams in Asia to keep tabs of their colleagues in Europe, all the while we at the headquarters in CA are updated. There's good integration with a variety of chat tools, so we're flexible in case an app is glitchy, we can quickly set up an option. Our communication is in one place, so it helps a lot with transparency as well.

CONS: It got the collaboration and communication needs covered, there isn't really much you can complain about the software. So far I haven't got the chance to use support since everything runs smoothly.

PROS: It is great for tracking projects especially when they are short, quite good solution with communication with client on the same platform, for logging time and for those who love easy care

CONS: it can be much better on phone version but I am still happy to have it. Should maybe align with some new trends like Agile for larger ongoing projects

PROS: We use the ActiveCollab cloud version and it's designed very well, easy to use, and always up! Best of all it's priced well compared to other project management tools that offer the same features.

CONS: When a task is completed there should be a way to keep the task that was checked off displayed.

PROS: It is super simple and easy to use. There is no "getting used to" period. Time reports are great if you have need for them, you can do whatever you want with them.

CONS: The servers can be slow if you are not using yours.

PROS: The task feature, the files tab and the discussion tab are the best aspects for me for this project.

CONS: Changing calendars make it difficult to move out tasks all at one time a set number of days. Its not as simple as moving everything out 5 days some tasks might need to move out just 3 days, others 7 days, so the bulk edit doesn't solve for that.

PROS: Intuitive interface and user friendly platform. My team members use this platform without an intense training.

CONS: With updated version I’ve had some issues with assigning tasks to my clients. For e.g. I assign tasks to my employees and clients and lately I need to include them in subscriptions, and this is time wasting.
