What is Azuga?

Azuga is a solution for managing your fleet and can be used by companies to monitor history of maintenance, boost customer service, and improve vehicle safety. Top features of the app include data analytics, asset management, insurance telematics, and fleet tracking. It is utilized by companies in a range of industries include the public sector, emergency response, healthcare, hospitality, transportation, manufacturing, and construction.

Azuga lets you track, gauge, and prevent dangerous driving habits and minimize accident instances. The app applies a remote system that rewards safe driving practices using card scores for drivers based on criteria such as speeding, acceleration, idling, and braking. This gives you comparative performance of drivers and recognizes the top ones. The system also provides GPS capability so you’ll know at all time where your vehicles are.

Azuga provides technology to prevent driving distractions including calling or texting while behind the wheel. It likewise provides dashboards and reports on maintenance and repair schedules to save on costs as well as asset tracking functionality to help in vehicle dispatching, optimize cycle times, and boost productivity.

In addition, it offers APIs for seamless integration with ERP systems and external apps, and mobile accessibility via native apps for iOS and Android devices.

Tracking vehicle speed is done by a feature called “SpeedSafe” which provides managers with alerts whenever drivers do not follow required speeds on school and residential zones, and local streets. Azuga is able to capture and tag data on different points for every trip including idle times, locations, total stops, start points, destinations, distances, and speeds.

The system inhibits the unauthorized vehicle use by allowing managers to put in parameters and receive automated notifications when company vehicle is not permitted for use. The platform offers features to save on fuel such as helping drivers locate gas stations that are nearest and reporting transactions every time a fuel card is used. Furthermore, the system provides recognition capabilities for occupants, enabling quick identification by managers on status of drivers and who is using what vehicle at any given time.

PROS: ODB connection with engine diagnostics is a great feature when the modules functioned. They failed frequently with my older trucks. Other features are standard GPS tracking including speeding violations.

CONS: Does not work well with trucks that have modified wiring for snow plowing. My trucks all have snow plows and on some of them that appears to cause the units to fail. Azuga attempted to solve this problem by rotating new units to my vehicles but they continued to fail. When I was forced to cancel the service Azuga charged me for early termination.

PROS: If it worked and you never had to talk to anyone, it would be great.

CONS: Poor customer service. Had lots of issues, email and email, would wait weeks for a response. Asked to have someone come out to help us get through the issues, waited 3+ weeks for someone to come from Vegas to Arizona. Issues never changed, still am waiting for a response to questions I have.
