PROS: I love how smple this software is from the get-go. It's so easy to carry out so you can immediately start with an analysis on how users make use of your site.
CONS: One downer with Hotjob is that I easily get lost in the filter options. I have a hard time trying to bring back the old site recording so I can get rid of them and replace them with new ones.

PROS: I've been using Hotjar's free option and I like how you can record the screen of each user. This is can be particularly useful if you want to figure out the interaction of a user in a certain page as well as looking into what works and what doesn't.
CONS: I never had a chance to go deep to say anything negative with Hotjar. With their free option, you're limited to 300 onscreen recordings --- way moro than what's actually needed.

PROS: User polls and surveys are easy to set up and run, allowing you to quickly gather actionable insights. The 'exit intent' survey is particularly useful, catching users as they leave your site and letting you ask whether they found what they needed. A good range of features are available out of the box, and if you have a relatively low-traffic site you may never need to upgrade to the paid versions.
CONS: I have never found the heat map function particularly useful, and I wish the surveys were a bit more customizable in terms of look and feel.

PROS: Hotjar did me a great deal by cutting down my subscriptions. With their visitor recordings, heatmpas, and survey widgets, I have a platform at my disposal with three essential features that's simple to use.
CONS: If you're asking me to spend a lot or even think about paying for a bunch of features with this software --- then you're dead wrong. I pay nothing and I get a ton of features with Hotjar. What's not to not like?

PROS: A reasonably priced software with a ton of features at your disposal (I can't think of another software like it). Session recording is incredibly well. At a low cost, I get to see my client's performance and behavior on the site.
CONS: We don't like its heatmpas and support. We feel they're disruptive when working with screen shots of pages we've selected. Sinc we opted for a cheap account, suport wasn't as good as we hoped.

PROS: Hotjar does a good job gathering a plethora of useful data. You can see each user's interaction in the site, app, and even from their own devices. With this, you're able to acquire aspects of your product and assist your customers in so many ways. You can create surveys or polls. You can even track funnels of your preference and issues with forms.
CONS: There have been issues when trying to record events and keeping track of forms funnels via public login. You're not given the ability to record your forms if they're tucked away within the login.

PROS: I like how they put together surveys, heatmaps, polls, funnels, and recording in a one convenient medium. One dashboard intended for a single code. It's easy to put up and a lot simpler to use.
CONS: I don't have the option to choose where my recordings are sourced from or even know what they're currently using. However, you have the ability to filter recordings right after.

PROS: This software is so easy to use. When the script is already laid out on the website, installing a heatmap recording is simple. Hotjar can also record user sessions. This lets you see recordings according to varying filters.
CONS: When it comes to heatmap recordings, it would be an improvement to have something that can record a tablet, desktop, or mobile. Recording devices can be helpful since you easily move from one device to another within the reporting dashboard.

PROS: I like their multi-playback and session recording functionality. Session recording is a great approach to see user interaction with your services/product. Their playback gives you an idea where interactions are happening with your services/product. Having the ability to fast forward or skip viewing is an added bonus.
CONS: When going through pages containing embedded tabs, heatmap recording can't be used. Depending on how things are laid out, you could lose out on critical insights there. Their funnel functionality isn't as heavy as I thought.
If it weren’t for Hotjar, I’d be struggling with online marketing.

PROS: We're able to decode analytical data with Hotjar. When we're clueless with drops or peaks, we deploy Hotjar user recordings, view polls, and end up finding behaviour patterns or bottlenecks that triggered such loss of data. Life would be impossible without user recordings that have been filtered with UTM parameters. Hotjar is such an invaluable asset for me.
CONS: It's imposssible to tell. This software has a plethora of features that I find useful. For example, they have this polling/case study tool that I find interesting (which I've yet to use). Linking user recordings to bring intercom.io data through would've been awesome if Hotjar allowed it.
