What is iSalus EHR?

iSalus EHR is an electronic health records software designed for clinics, healthcare organizations, and practices of all sizes. They will also be able to exchange clinical reports with other hospitals. Overview of iSalus EHR Benefits

The EHR solution has a unique feature which helps clinicians and providers comply with Meaningful Use requirements. iSalus EHR aims to eliminate the complexity and stress associated with the procedure of meeting Meaningful Use compliance requirements.

To achieve this goal, it offers color-coded Meaningful Use dashboards. Through these dashboards, providers will able to see whether they are completely complying with Meaningful Use requirements or falling short on meeting them. The color-coded dashboards are also linked to their full patient lists. If they are not meeting the Meaningful Use requirements for some of their patients, the EHR software provides them step-by-step instructions to achieve compliance.

Another feature of iSalus EHR is Medical Reconciliation. This feature aims to eliminate redundant tasks and procedures, enabling providers and their clinical staff to be more efficient and effective in delivering the best patient care. In this feature, the provider receives a file from another EHR system. This file contains a list of the patient’s allergies, problems, and medications. If some items in the list have already been addressed by the provider the patient has previously made a visit with, they can be considered as inactive. Those items that the provider wants to keep will be automatically posted on the patient’s chart.

Furthermore, iSalus EHR offers an e-prescribing feature. This feature is simplified yet has powerful functionalities. In this feature, providers will be able to see color- coded contraindication warnings. The color codes are differentiated based on level severity, and they are very useful when the provider selects medications. Providers will also be able to review pharmaceutical formularies, insurance coverage, and copay amounts; enabling them to consider alternative medications if necessary. In addition, the e-prescribing feature of iSalus is integrated with Google maps; as a result, providers will be able to locate nearby pharmacies and provide directions to their patients.

PROS: Price is acceptable. Televideo was good. Initial customer support and training was good but it got less and less. They were not very helpful in transitioning with the exception of a staff named Rachel. Rachel

CONS: Accessing customer support was very difficult and many times would not respond until 24 to 48 hours. And one case it was 3 to 4 weeks after multiple attempts. The worst part is that your data gets exported in an Excel file which is very difficult if you have a medium for larger practice. If you have them do it they charge you $3,000 or a hundred dollars a month for storage. This is outrageous. I have another company that only charges me $100 a year for data storage.

PROS: initially the templates they helped us create reduced some of the time the paper and scanning was causing us.

CONS: assistance with systems to speed up documentation. Billing side of the program is confusing and if you use the RCM company part beware as they do not post payments correctly and can wreak havoc on your patient account reconciliation. Making statements near impossible
