PROS: Join.me may not be a leading player in the screen sharing market, but its free version is top notch as it allows you to start a screen sharing VoIP conference call without even signing up. I was impressed with the free version and decided to subscribe to a paid package which offers features such as conference phone numbers, recording, and presenter swapping. The highlight is it allows 50 users in a room compared to WebEx’s eight users for a similar rate.

CONS: I only wish to point out a couple of minor drawbacks. First, the user interface for scheduling meetings does not seem sophisticated. Second, for low-volume users like me I wish there was a pricing package between free and $20 per month.

PROS: I like the following points about Join.me: Clients don’t have to install anything to view presentations, the pricing is affordable, audio bridge is included, great set of features, excellent storage for recordings, there is very little lag and video/transitions and mouse tracking work more efficiently compared to other solutions. Finally, the 24/7 support is amazing as they were able to resolve an issue I had in the middle of the night.

CONS: Admin user interface is poor for the Enterprise package. It was not part of the free trial so we had no inkling about it and only found about it when we subscribed to a paid package. The vendor has promised to improve the admin UI soon. To be fair, once you start using the system there is no need to access the Admin feature.

PROS: I love that Join.me offers plenty of useful features. You can use it to host live meetings with employees from many organizations. The screen sharing has very little lag. It is easy to join the meeting and add participants. The app also supports voice and chat. It clearly shows the presenter as well as the participants.

CONS: I find it hard to set up the software. I need to run a few plug-ins to host meetings and these plug-ins get deleted due to company security policies. So I need to re-run the plug-ins every time I need to host a meeting. The solution would be to make system completely web-based which will eliminate downloads and plug-ins.

PROS: I feel Join.me is easier to set up and join compared to GotoMeeting and WebEx. You simply need to access the URL to start using the app. It’s the simplest screen sharing platform in the market. GotoMeeting and WebEx offer more features and options, but Join.me is the best tool if you only need to do screen sharing and conference calls.

CONS: You cannot use Join.me for conference calling in India as no conference lines are available in this country. Another issue is you have to re-download the application every time you want to present something from the desktop. The software simply refuses to recognize that the user has already downloaded the software.

PROS: I use Join.me every day for screen-sharing meetings with my clients. The app is easy to use and my clients don’t need to download anything. It simply works fine!

CONS: My clients have trouble with the interface – they have difficulty in finding the “join meeting” link on the website after I share the code with them. Second, the chat feature is too basic and does not allow me to do webinars.

PROS: I like that for simple screen shares the viewer doesn’t need to download anything. They simply need to go to the URL to view the screen. It is easy and quick. For both parties to share, they simply need to download and install the app, which takes much less time compared to other systems that are pre-installed on your device.

CONS: I wish the app offered a way to do screen sharing and video conferencing at the same time. It will make me feel that I belong to the meeting and enable me to share my screen and view others’ video feeds. Google Hangouts offers this feature.

PROS: I love that Join.me is a free app. I use it for screen sharing to demonstrate programs to my clients and colleagues using my computer screen. Another advantage is you can organize and conduct online meetings quickly without needing to install any software.

CONS: There are a few disadvantages. You need to register and get a login account. There’s no audio feature. You can only share desktop screen. Finally, you cannot draw or annotate anything on the screen.

PROS: I love that Join.me is easy to use and I utilize it to give web demos of our company’s product. We also use it internally to inform our team members about new product features. The app is great for troubleshooting issues as I can pass the mouse control or presenter role between users.

CONS: Previously, the app used to crash a lot while opening, but I updated the software and this problem has vanished since then.

PROS: We use Join.me successfully for internal screen sharing for our remote employees and to present web demos of our product to potential customers. The features I like most are the simple, easy-to-use controls and the plug-in feature with evites, Google Calendar, etc.

CONS: Some of our clients struggle to find out how to join webcast, but we help them out by guiding them over the phone. We don’t use the VoIP functionality a lot so I cannot give you an idea about the quality of that feature.

PROS: I love that it is easy to set up a meeting and share screen with others. You can understand and use the app even without any training. Join.me displays a number when you open the app and you simply need to give this number to the person with whom you wish to share your screen.

CONS: I have no complaints at all. I did not use all the features, but the ones I used were very simple.

PROS: The best part about Join.me is it makes screen sharing easy even for lay users. You can get the hang of it quickly and it is ideal for spontaneous screen sharing to enable you to discuss problems and issues with other users.

CONS: A couple of drawbacks need to be pointed out. The first is the user interface is not intuitive but clunky and could be improved. Second, there are continuous updates, and sometimes you have to wait to do screen sharing as the software is in the process of updating. I wish the vendor provides an option to skip the updates for later.

PROS: I have been using Join.me for the past few years and it is a great screen sharing app that allows others to join you easily. The interface is simple to use and you can create and host a meeting, join a meeting, and share controls for dual presenting or simply to help troubleshoot someone’s issues.

CONS: You need a stable and fast internet connection at both ends so that others can see what you are presenting at good speed. But this is not an issue pertaining to Join.me.
